Seeing as all guardsmen should have a survival kit, I went ahead and put one together for myself featuring all the suggested bits plus a few other personal additions as follows:
1x Bedroll
1x Scissors
1x Tincture Kit
1x Hatchet
1x Bees Wax (For sealing small scrapes and cuts and waterproofing objects)
1x Knife
1x Block and tackle (Fishing, improvised club)
1x Lantern
1x Woodworkers Kit
1x Dice and cup
1x Blank Journal (For notes, or to keep the mind active)
2x Leisure Readings: "The Major Trade Associations" and "Britannian Flora: A casual Guide."
1x Sextant (Guidance by Starlight)
1x Fire starter
1x Quill and Ink
1x flask of emergency water (Possibly wine)
I've thought to add some basic scrolls or reagents for spells to open portals and the like.
Perhaps some prophylactic kits as well, or maybe not in case re-population becomes an endeavor of long term survival?
Maybe some form of Mosquito rapelant?
Camouflage robe?
Spare skivvies?
The basics are in anyways!
