The Cunning plan - To kill a Golden Wyrm

We were told we would be making Covian history, that our lives though they may be brief on this bloody expedition will go down in history like the war heroes of old.  Leanne had a plan, an amazing and very cunning plan though she let on it were partly devised by Pickles. That we would use this new contraption of a "Moveable blockade" in a crate. To trap the Golden Wyrm an' thereby be able to slay it without loss of limb or life as what usually occurs.

Leanne 'ad us by the balls so to speak an' led us on this merry adventure full of optimism and the belief we could not fail. She had us up near the valley that leads to the pit of death and we stood there waiting as she set up the blockade and make her way back ter say its ready.  We were calm an' trusting in our leader. Bu' before we knew it Leanne were running back to us screamin' it had flew over the blockade and was now tearing its way towards us. So we did like any reasonable person would do, we ran.  We pegged it hard out of there with tha' ball of Golden screaming flame-throwing, limb ripping, beast, hot on our heals.  I cast a quick invisibility on meself as did the lass Hope an' we let the others find their own way. I think we lost one nameless recruit in t'valley as it were torn limb from bloody limb infront of our eyes, leaving just a pair of smoking boots.

When we'd recovered ourselves an' no longer felt our hearts were trying to rip themselves from our chests we slowly made our way back to the Valley. This time Leanne set up the blockade infront of us, shutting the beast off from it's nest.  Yeah tha's going ter make it happy I thought, an' soon enough the beast arrived to find its way home blocked. Needlesstersay it were bloody furious. It roared, it cursed, it near bit the Captain in 'alf a few times. But we stayed put and we gave it the battle of our lives.  

All through the night we fought it. An endless barage of spells tha' left us arcanists hoarse and worn out. (Been needing a week of sleep an' food after this) We fought through t'next day, still standing though our feet were weary, our hands and arms aching and our words jus' a whisper as we continued casting our spells.  Until eventually we had worn the Wyrm down an' took its life. Leanne lept with a cheer an' cut a claw from the beast, holding it aloft as 'er prize.

Tha' day we did fight like heroes an' I reckon us'll go down in history as t'smallest patrol ter bring down a golden Wrym.
