Several recruits were milling about, when newly promoted Junior Drachir was ordered to take up up North to the bogs to look around. We were about halfway ther, when we heard a massive explosion, and looked back to see smoke rising from Cove, Drachir ordered a march back, and Haimish and myself were put on gate duty to stop suspicious persons entering or leaving Cove. It transpired that the smoke had been issuing from the Baron's Aide's house, which for some reason had blown up ad was still smouldering. We all gathered, while a carpenter desperately tried to prop the house up with scaffolds. It was no good, however, and the house fell heavily to the ground, issuing a billowing cloud of smoke, which made people start acting funny. We were lined up, and told that anyone who needed to sleep should do so, so I left and went to bed, hoping that my head would clear by tomorrow.
