Ryan groaned in pain as he bended down to pick up the pieces of paper which were now covering the whole floor of the office in the barracks.

Bloodi ‘eavy doors.. ‘ow could em militia folk in Yew do this ‘ere task day in and day out?

Muttering and cursing quietly Ryan started to adjust the papers in their correct order.

Well em officer folk better be ‘appy about this ‘ere because I nay know if meh back can stand another day of that…

Ryan placed the stack of papers on the desk after he was done collecting them all again and sorting them out in the proper order.
He rubbed his back again and slowly walked outside the door complaining all the way.

The papers on the table read the following words :

><><><><><><><><
         Gate log
><><><><><><><><

Date : February the sixth.

Log written and maintained by Ryan Greystone, Guardsman recruit.

Morning :

Temporary barricades were created so monitor the in and outgoing folk of the town of Cove.

Received aid with the building of the structure by :

- An unknown craftsman with a strange fixation for eyebrows.
- Guardsman recruit Kristen.

Afternoon :

- The gate was opened for a man riding an insect like creature claiming he was the owner of the arms shop inside of Cove.
The man was let through and did not cause any trouble during his stay within Cove.

- A citizen escorted by guardsman recruit Kristen arrived at the front gates. The mans reason for visiting Cove was because he was in search of water.
The man left Cove ten minutes or so after arriving informing us that there was no fresh water to be found he was directed towards the barracks to look for fresh water there.

(Side note : He makes bloody good pies sir!)

- The same man as before wished to enter Cove this time in search of a rolling pin. He was allowed through the gates.

(Side note : Only because recruit Kristen has such a pretty smile.. My back is starting to kill me from sliding these wooden gates aside.)

- The same man as before wanted to leave the town of Cove ’’again’’ after not being able to find his rolling pin. I do wish he would make up his bloody mind.

- A new recruit who identified himself as Olaf Hulvieg wanted to enter Cove to collect his boots from the bank where he stored them.
He later left the city again with his new pair of boots and is on his way to report to the barracks.

(Side note : Bloody odd fellow for walking around bare feet but I suppose them boots were expensive)

- A man wearing a long robe who identified himself as Tiolas wished to enter the city. He was let in the city but left around ten minutes later.
Nothing suspicious about this person but why can’t these people stay in the bloody city for no longer then ten minutes?! My back is killing me.

- Tiberius arrived at the city with the new recruit Olaf to show him around Cove. Thank the avatar they opened the gates on their own.

- A lass wearing a pink dress wished to enter the city saving she had business to attend to inside, she even offered me a free ale but ‘’of course’’ I refused! Its not like I would be drinking on duty. Nope nay me.

- First trouble maker of the day was a man wearing a red cape who sounded very familiar.
He started by kicking the front gate and refused to identify himself, afterwards he insulted a guardsman and resisted arrest.
He was knocked down in Cove by one of my superiors.

(Side note : Bloody wytches everywhere here I tell ye)

- There was an attack on the Cove gates by two unknown men who had their faces covered by hoods.
The guardsmen on duty were attacked by some sort of large guardian spawn with wings and one of them living flame creatures.
One of the hooded men seemed to be a wytch since whenever he opened that pie hole I got a bolt of energy shot after me.

The two men fled after their creatures were slain and they have not shown their faces since.

Late afternoon :

- The bloody barricades collapsed after one of those Covian dogs ran straight into it.

(Side note : I always knew that odd looking crafty was nay to be trusted. Delivering shoddy workmanship and everything not to mentioned fixate on me eyebrows.)

Guardsmen who assisted during the day :

- Junior Guardsman Jackhera Orange
- Guardsman recruit Kristen
- Guardsman recruit Olaf Hulvieg

*There's a small sketch of the Covian gates drawn on the bottom of the paper*
