Just been reading the grens idea thread,
Something which I admire about the Dragoons
Thanks Raiden!  Tongue

They've been talking about brotherhood and all that sort of stuff and in it came out the Dragoon battle partners idea.
I like this idea and think we should designate partners for each Dragoon.

As not everyone is on at the same time you won't always have your partners for events, in which event you can compromise like have three's or take someone else who's partner isn't around.
I think it would be cool and a great way of rp bonding with other Dragoons if they were your official battle partner.

That already is part of the squad, if you read the website, the paired fighting course is a requirement to gain rank in the Dragoons.

Vince is known for little more than his arrogance and ability to fight. His arrogance stems not from his ability, but the fact he is a Dragoon.

Personally, I think all Dragoons should have a fraction of corruptness in them, thinking in the back of their minds they are better than the 'rest' of the guardsmen. This is just an idea, but instead of roleplaying being in a great squad in a powerful army, I think it should be played as we're a powerful army 'assisting' a powerful army. All orders and rules would of course still be followed and dicipline is a must, but arrogance and a hint of defiance, I think, is appropriate for us.

Also, before the Dragoons were formed and Joe was explaining the concept to me, It felt a little familiar, like I was hearing about the Beseigers. Of course, we're better (  Grin ) But I think the brotherhood aspect is a strong part of the squad that was meant to be felt, but to me, isn't, i.e. Dragoon Brothers over everyone else, Squad comes first, etc.

Feedback Cheesy

Oh, and I thought this was super cool, quoted from Vince Valentine in the Gren thread:

"Obviously this is the Dragoons way, we've all seen Vinny and th' Joe storm into a horde of enemies, competing to see who can take down the most."

1337 is us Cheesy

Another idea... standardisation of horse colours.
Having all the same colour horse would make things look better when lining up on horse back and such.

A couple of points a few of us had a talk about and we should cover here:

Respect and Discipline - Not just in combat and on the battle field, true, Dragoons are the some of the toughest fighters here but there are other aspects that need to be covered in order for us to stay ahead in the quality department. Respect for eachother as a dragoon and respect for the superiors or "the chain of command", now that doesnt mean turn into an emotionless social retard and bitch at people, it means follow the rules and listen to orders. This isnt a personal attack and isnt aimed at one perticular person, we all have traits of the above, lets just try and perfect it.

The Dragoon Catchphrase/Motto - We'll now be using a catchphrase thought up in game, aswell as the hand signals for orders and such, more details will follow in an in-game meeting.

Discuss people!

Wouldn't it be a nice idea to have some sort of special dragoon game? A game that entertains people but improves dragoons horse riding skills too? We could like build a small obstacle course made out of crates and the one moving fastest trough it wins? Could add a few objectives to it as well, just to make it harder.

Could get a civy char as a horse trainer....
Role would be too train horses for the coming recruits, Squad would pay them a certain amount of Dubloons per horse trained.
It would give the horse more of a military feel and then if you leave them outside the barracks they might not die from some random snake...

It would have to be sorted out with the civy element if it is excepted.

A new way to identify the class of a Dragoon.  Such as an apprentice has the normal tan belt, and the Dragoon Master has a Dark Black Belt.  Sort of a way to signify combat ability much like Martial Arts belts.

Agreed, it is an interesting idea.

Imagining this was adopted by all squads as I suggested on the Grenadier Ideas Thread, for the purpose of representing inner-squad experience etc. (as you could have a Junior Grenadier having served as one much longer than a Regular), what would ordinary, unsquaded guardsmen do?
