I logged in, and got a message saying: "Thank you for being part of the Ultima Online community for over 6 months. As a token of our appreciation, your stat cap has been increased."

Just wondering: Is there anyone who already had the increased stat cap from before my time, who also got this, allowing a new stat cap of a possible 260?

Cheers.

I just read this on the UO website:

  • "6th Month Reward: +5 stat cap bump for all characters on accounts that are 6 months or older and did not receive the AOS stat increase."

Question answered!

Hah, those who picked a +5 stat increase with the AOS or whatever it was, ages ago must be a bit annoyed. As they don't get a +5 increase in stats.

Yes they did. They got it with AoS!

With AoS players were given a choice, either +5 to their stats or +5 to a skill of their choosing.
Heh, that is how I GM'ed taming and cartography.

But yeah, I am a bit miffed that these days there is hardly any advantage in being a veteran.
I mean, first they took away our ethereals (by introducing the Charger) and now the stat bonus.

Veterans have increased skill cap...

But the biggest pro of being a veteran is that you can moan and groan about all the young people that have accounts that aren't even 5 years.

Heh don't forget the ability to say
"When my char was about your age..."

For instance
"When my char was your age the trees in Felucca were still green!"

Or, as I loved saying with my RP char (who was named Darius, an old man) in CoY.
"When I was your age, Yew was still a forrest!"
But yeah, now that they fixed that again...
Hey, in a few years I'll be able to say
"When I was your age, Yew was still a swamp!"

Oh yes, the perks of being a vet! It just keeps getting better and better!

My account's little over 1.5 years old..

"When I was your age, Yew was still a swamp!"

..but even I can say that. I feel so privelaged. Tongue

As for advantages for veterans.. I dunno, but that might piss off new players, forever being at a disadvantage. And UO needs new subscribers!
