As part of an ongoing project between the Entrepreneur Lyim Rashidat and the Businesslady, Cambylobacter Seraph, may I announce the current standing in the development of the Covian Roadlink Project.
AIMS OF THE ROADLINK PROJECT:- To develop Cove's infrastructure
- To establish Cove as a core part of the traderoutes of the land
- To aid in local tourism and customer service industries
- To illustrate to the other parts of the land that Cove is a thriving and developing area
- To promote Cove as a place to settle for citizens of the realm.
THE ROUTE:As illustrated on the parchment map encosed, see the route shown. The route links Covian territory directly to the busy trading road from Vesper to Britain.
TIMESCALE:Week One:
- Initial Meeting between Lyim Rashidit and Cambylobacter Seraph. Project strategy discussed, and project management handed to Lady Seraph.
- Routes considered and most appropriate route chosen.
- Plan made public to the citizens of Cove and for approval from the Baronship.
- Job Roles made available
Week Two:
- Project leaders (as appointed by Cambylobacter Seraph) start their individual work assignments.
- End of Week Two sees full team meeting.
Week Three:
- Tradesmen and Labourers must have begun resource gathering by this time.
- Foundations and structure for the road must have been started to be put together
Week Four:
- On a suitable day, the road build will go ahead. All resources and service provisions will come together to build the road
After Project Considerations:
- Militia to take some responsibility for patrolling the road
- Citizens to take responsibility for maintaining the road
- The Covian Brewery Project starts its planning phase.
ALL PEOPLE OF COVE: JOB ROLES:Catering:It is absolutely vital that all labourers, craftsmen and militia members on guard duty are well fed. Without good food and water, our team cannot function properly.
Having seen the determination, spirit and belief in the fair lands of Cove, from the local citizen, Dellamona, I have asked her to take the important role of co-ordinating the food and drink for the three main events:
1) A small buffet for an all staff meeting
2) A large outdoors barbecue for those collecting the resources and building the materials
3) a large outdoors barbecue for the day of road building
This is a huge undertaking and I believe she will be speaking to the local tavern owner for support in this task.
Wood Collection:For the task at hand we need the finest quality wood. Birch is out of the question. Oak would be ideal if it can either be bought cheaply, or collected reasonably.
We need a Resource Manager to do the following:
- Locate an area of forest that can supply fine quality wood
- Arrange transport of that wood back to Cove
- Arrange a depot in Cove to store the wood
- Arrange a team of labourers who will collect the wood
- Seek out any opportunities for the purchase of bulk wood of good quality and fair price
Craftwork:We need fine craftsmen with the skills to manufacture the building materials required. The most vital skills will most likely be a combination of carpentry, tinkering and experience of road building would be an advantage.
The initial position is for a Tradesperson Manager to co-ordinate a highly skilled team.
Security:Security at the road construction phase is key. We would ask that the Militia make available any men they have to protect the worksmen from bandits or worse. We feel it would be better to keep as much work as possible for local Covians, and none hold our security more dearly to heart than the Militia. The Commander, or a designated officer, is invited to preside on the management team of this project.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the project as it stands now.
If you have any constructive comments, you are encouraged to say them now. If the Baron, or one of his representatives has any concerns, then we shall address them without any lack of haste.
Above all though, we are committed to the improvement of Cove, the improvement of life to the citizens of Cove, and for making Cove the finest home of homes.
The Covian Roadlink is integral to this commitment.
