Ok.. this poem symbolizes the Portoguese Victory over the English during the "World Cup". Many English don't realize just how important such a victory was for my small country, you've already won a world-cup so keep an open mind and understand my hapiness at such an event
.
Heroes of the Sea
Built strong like you and me
The underrated, against the best of the world.
A small nation we are, one of lovers, not fighters.
And believe me, neither are we spiters'.
Over the lands of spain, across the Iberian Peninsula
Lies a land hidden from the earth, a land of passion and joy.
The Land of Portugal, when you see our flag scream "Ahoy!"
For we've beaten the English in battle before, and now we fight on the
field of Green, where blood, sweat and tears are just as plentiful as in battle.
Tie Game! The Scourge of English arrives, armed with his golden-foot
A golden smile lights his face up as he walks towards the firing squad.
Glory be to the lord, glory be to Portugal he mutters under his breath, jogging towards fate.
But wait! A pause! A trick, perhaps? A flash of white light,
a tear flickering in the english eye. For once, Portugal will be noticed
David against Goliath
Sparta against Persia
Portugal against England. Victory!
