*Raiden sits proudly to write up his first training session*

Attended By:

Raiden Morana, Watchman (leading)
Joey Lanai, Sergeant (observing)

Kas Valentine, Watchman
Roland Dagorian, Guardsman Recruit
Olchafa Serpernt, Guardsman Recruit
Grazgorn, Guardsman Recruit

I had hoped fer a few more o' meh fellows to attend but I was able to lead a fair session with those that did.

I first made sure that the recruits knew standard formations and how to line up properly on parade.

I covered single and double lines as well as how to form and the trackers line. I also tested their co-ordination wi' some marchin'.

Next I impressed upon the recruits the importance of healing in combat situations.

Then put it into practice with a session of attack and defence.

I did a quick spot check on their kit to make sure they all had an acceptable light source an' enough bandies etc. before some quick drilling on the formations we had covered earlier to make sure that they had been listening to meh!

We finished off wi' last man standin' to put everything into practice before I dismissed the men.

*Weary, Raiden pens the report of his third hunt*

Attended by:
Raiden Morana, Watchman (leading)
Erik Arkay, Officer Cadet
Kurt, Junior Guardsman
Kas Valentine, Watchman
Jevonia, Guardsman Recruit
James Moris, Watchman

I came across my fellow militiamen as they were concluding a gate sentry around our fair town of Cove. They volunteered to join me on a hunt as part of meh Watchman's trials ... but where to go?

They wanted a little more adventure and danger than an average hunt. It could lead to our Doom! I thought and with a little encouragement from Officer Cadet Arkay we headed fer Umbra.

We found the deadites there to be tough and soon found oursleves being overrun.

As well as we healed and fought it was a losin' battle and though we slew many deadites

we had to make a tactical withdrawl and a speedy one at that!

Determined to get the required gold fer the Baron as part o' meh trials we then headed to despise.

We made our way quikly into the depths of the dungeon slaying many ellementals, ettins, trolls, ogres and their hardened lords.

Having amassed over 15000 gold pieces in loot which made well over my target of 50000 fer meh trial I decided to order my men back to the barracks fer a well deserved rest.

*Raiden reports the second hunt of the first part of his Watchman's Trial*

Raidens 2nd Hunt - Covetous.

Attended by:
Raiden Morana, Watchman (leading)
Sergeant Arc
Erik Arkay, Junior Guardsman
Roland Dagorian, Guardsman Recruit
Eben Roichar, Watchman
Kiyoshi, Guardsman Recruit

For meh 2nd hunt I chose the Covetous dungeon. I thought we could get some feathers fer Coves fletchers while we was on the hunt be alas some adventurers had beaten us to the bird women fer all we found was there corpses.

We worked our way through the first level with relative ease and continued to the second where things got a little tougher plus Eben and Kiyoshi were required elsewhere.

The four of us that were left battled our way through and past what seemed like an army of undead skeletons until we reached a curious entrance.

We entered what looked like a crypt and were momentarily overcome by a swarm of liches. However we rallied and counterattacked. Driving the litches before us we made the entrance area safe. Sergeant Arc lost a case of reagents in combat fer which 'e said he was dockin' meh wages *grins*.

With Sergeant Arc's and Erik's experience plus Roland's backup ('e is a fine Recruit) we continued for a while before returning to the Barracks with nearly 21,000 gold pieces.

Meh thanks to all those who attended.

Raiden's 1st Hunt - Despise

Attended by:
Raiden Morana, Watchman (leading)
Drachir, Junior Scout
Seamus, Guardsman Recruit
Kiyoshi
Tweeso

After meetin' at the barracks we made our way to Despise on foot, the LONG way accordin' to meh fellows *grins*.

We made our way through the dungeon despatchin' Ettins, Elementals, Trolls, Ogres an' more than a few Ogre Lords.

The little man Tweeso tried his luck wi' some chests as we made our way through despise afore he 'ad to leave pledging 3,000gp to the coffers.

The rest of us brought back over 16,000gp from the hunt making 19,000gp in total. The only disappointment was that meh sketches got lost in combat but i managed to do a hurried one showin' the gold we 'ad earned goini into the coffers.

Thank ye lads fer attendin' an bein patient wi' meh leading meh first hunt.

*Raiden compiles yet more paperwork* *snorts*

Attended:
Erik Arkay, Junior Guardsman (leading)
Kiyoshi, Mercenary.

Joined by:
Raiden Morana, Watchman.
Veldrin Ni'harel, Corporal.

Later met with:
Kurt, Junior Guardsman.

Strollin' through the forest I heard a commotion comin' from the gravyard. As i got closer I could see that Erik and Kiyoshi was givin' some zombies a good thrashin so i joined them.

Soon after Corporal Ni'Harel joined us and we proceeded to clear the graveyard.

On arrivin' back at the barracks we encountered Kurt who was challenging a stranger to our parts from Umbra? i believe. The intruder made a dash for it but Kurt an' Kiyoshi ran 'im down an' dispatched 'im.

All that was left was some rottin' bones and a scroll which Kurt read to us. The message was "Be warned ..." Kurt then burnt it believin' it was cursed.

Attended:
Veldrin Ni'Harel, Corporal (leading)
Raiden Morana, Watchman.
Roland Dagorian, Guardsman Recruit.
Kiyoshi, Mercenary.
.... I know i've missed someone ... damn!

I don't know why but after leavin' the tavern I felt an urge to patrol the shire.

I headed to the barracks to see if anyone was about and found Corporal Ni'Harel tendin' to her duties. I asked if she thought a patrol might be in order and persuaded her to lead it.

As she was rallying the available miltiamen Junior Guardsman Kurt appeared lookin' a bit battered an' bruised. *i knew somat was afoot I thought* It was the undead that 'ad jumped Kurt so off we went to patrol area.

First we checked the town but on the way we came across a pile o' corpses, fresh 'uns.

We carried on into the town an' checked the tower and docks, all being well Corporal Veldrin ordered us in tay the forest to see if we could find any undead prowlin' about.

We came across a few beasties but none o' the undead - though on more than one ocasion we thought we saw somethin' in the shadows. Nothing was found so happy that the area was secure we headed back to the barracks, a little downhearted that we couldn't avenge Kurts attack.

*Raiden reports on another completed local area patrol*

On arrivin' at the barracks I bumped into Junior Guardsman Garand. We decided to keep a check on them orcs tay make sure they hadn't strayed too far from their 'ole.

We quickly despatched the few that strayed out of their fort and after securing the immediate area we 'eaded to Cove to check the town an' docks.

Their was a curious fella called Rufus at the docks. 'E 'ad fished up a lot o' fishes (which Garand helped 'imself tay).

I gave 'im one of my Militia recruitment posters and satisfied that we was keepin the area safe from harm Garand and I returned to the barracks.

Garand, Junior Guardsman.
