The Vesper Leg of Axiana's Jousting Tournament

Fraught with worry of the missing Covians, Axiana was finding it difficult to focus on the event that she had arranged with Mr De Blaze in Vesper.  Everyone was already milling about outside swaggers, when she arrived.  Mr De Blaze had set up ready for the joust, the Vesperian colours were glaring at her from the jousting area, and several stalls were set up, these included a funeral stall (for a Covian's impending death, no doubt!), a clothing stall and one consisting of a large quantity of alcohol.

Those participating formed an orderly line in front of Leanne to sign up (Please see Leanne's report for paintings).  Realizing that she had forgotten the lances for the joust, Axiana left Leanne to 'hold the fort' whilst she rode back to Cove to retrieve them.  After Axiana's opening speech, Leanne began to call forth the contestants from the lists:-

Round 1

After awarding the prizes, Axiana thanked their host, her herald and those in attendance.

She wearily gathered the horses and began to head home.   She had not walked far when she disovered a 'bloodied mess' along with a note, behind the Swaggers!  She took a sharp involuntary intake of breath.  Another Covian had been taken!

"We have her Cove!  Meet our terms and ye shall see her face again"

Axiana paled.

Task Two: Service to the Citizentry - Part One

On the 26th November, I assisted Axiana Masteen in holding her Joust tournament in Vesper.

During the two hours of my deeds, I signed up contestants, made their introductions, made the brackets and continuously made sure the whole place stays in order.

Well met, Commander.

We began some investigations into your disappearance. We more or less ruled out Yew as an actor in this particular international incident, although curiously they had not had any of their people kidnapped. Vesper, on the other hand, fell victim to the same agenda as yeself it would appear.

WANTED: THE GITS WHO GOT ME

To all,

My absence was the result of a nefarious plot by unknown parties.

Clues:
* Suspected to operate in or around Yew.
* Knowledge of the workings of the Yewish militia.
* Yewish accent (possibly fake?).
* Comfortable in dark places.

Anyone who provides information leading to their death or capture will be rewarded with 5,000 coins.

Anyone who brings me the bodies of the perpetrators (with proof that they were responsible) will be rewarded with 25,000 coins.

Anyone who brings in the perpetrators, alive will be rewarded with 40,000 coins.

[How could my character change?]

As the snow has now settled in Britannia, it's a wonderful time to consider your roleplay accordingly. Cloaks are permitted to Covian guardsmen as the Northern chill intensifies. Festive events and activites take on a life of their own as guardsmen and citizens alike bolster their spirits to stave off the effects of the harsh climate.

How could my character change?
* They may find a desire to wear more clothing!
* They may wish to spend more time indoors - OR OUT, if they like winter!
* A troll in the Covian Shire at night may be very romantic, unless one is happened upon by roaming Undead or brigands.
* Colds and, in serious cases, hypothermia may set in - evoking symptoms such as shivering, slurred speech, shallow breathing, drowsiness, clumsiness and confusion.
* A growing concern about family and travel arrangements..!
* A generous spirit to the less fortunate but also, in contrast, some characters may seek out opportunities to exploit those who are vulnerable.

Ideas for spontaneous roleplay?
* Build a fire! The biggest fire the North has ever seeeen!
* Patrol! A vigilante watch is needed more than ever as citizens now have the additional danger of the elements.
* Send Aid! Organise and escort an aid caravan to the far reaching outposts of the Baron's territory.
* Try find some mulled wine or cider at The Cardinal Feather.
