Our training session began in central Stonekeep with Sineal Walker addressing the line of troops. We were to be trained in the art of combating Arcanists since the increasingly vile Vesperians are now utilising them as much as possible. I was called out to the front of the line alongside other recognised practitioners of the art such as 'Haap, 'Keres, Pickles and 'Vani. We formed the target and the rest of the group were pitted against us. Several teams came and fell to our combined might, some to multiple flamestrikes, some to barrages of assorted spells. In general the Arcanists could not be stopped.
Sineal would praise or admonish strategies between each fight and eventually certain methods were streamlined and our invincible unit became more of a square without corners.
Once lessons had been learned a short lecture took place with 'Haap and Walker demonstrating some ideas while the rest of the line asked questions in the manner of a hodge podge open forum. After the Waywatchers had expressed their considerable disgust at the unrealistic interpretation of the battlefield wizard we were dismissed and a free for all took place. I survived, Jasper survived, almost everyone else representing the Baronship was slaughtered.
But....
A good time was had by all !
