I awoke from the previous nights alcoholic adventures to find Anari ringing the barracks bell to rally as many men as was available. Within a few moments Mr Sendrich, Mr Serpernt and myself were standing in a line before him. We were restless, Sendrich most of all as his mace twirling soon ended when it collided with my unmentionables.
Anari: "Alroot you lot sharpen up ! We're going to head over to the Orc fort and make sure those brutes know where they stand, basically, we're going to give them the thrashing of a lifetime!"
Over our hollers of agreement (and groans of agony) Junior Guardsman Anari ordered us to march out to the fort which we did with weapons brandished and ready for battle.
Upon our arrival we jumped straight into combat with the disgusting creatures, slashing a path right into the center of the fort.
At this point we had a moment to catch our breath and Junior Guardsman Sendrich decided to make a swift departure (doubtless fearing repercussions from his earlier ball shot) and soon enough it was just the three of us.
But we would not be pushed back, we made a valiant stand against swarm upon swarm of filthy Orcish beasts and emerged victorious.
Encouraged by our victory we fought our way to the nearby docks and took control of an abandoned vessel. The beast of the fort, the orc brute, had secured itself on a small corner of land that was unreachable by foot.
We cruised up alongside the coast of it's hiding place and it let out an almighty bellow of rage and instantly set about bashing the brave guardsmen. But as before they would not back down and the battle commenced....
THWAAAAAAACK !
.....was the sound that echoed across the fort as the gigantic brute tumbled to it's feet, dead from the blows of the mighty men of Cove.
The men of Cove: Yarrrrrggh !
We celebrated our victory by giving the brutes face a good stamping and then boarded the borrowed vessel and set a course towards Cove docks. Our journey was slightly marred by a visit from two ghastly water elementals but Mr Serpernt and Mr Anari soon sent them back to the depths.
We arrived in Cove as heroes and were promptly ordered back to the barracks where we counted our coinage and accepted our orders.
Anari: DISMISSED !
The men went their seperate ways, but one thing was certain, the Orcs of the nearby fort would not be bothering Cove any time soon.
