What was billed as an evening of fun, laughter and relaxation turned into one of astonishment and pain for Cove's handsome and heroic Captain. He was sat poolside with sergeant Hoagie taking in the sights and sounds of the pool party... The Yewlanders were up to their uncivilised tricks and the pool had to be sterilised more than once by Gwen of the Trinsic Rose as she was kept busy by the needs of her guests.
All was well... A couple of Yewish lasses were frolicking by the pool with Cove's Captain and his Sergeant raising a brow. The frolicking took a slightly aggressive turn as it spilled over to where Hoagie and Raiden were sat. Gallantly our fine Captain tried to intercede and calm things down, especially as a hairy, bearded brute from Yew was now butting into events with a dagger drawn.
Raiden managed to quell the situation or so he thought as he stepped back from the fray for a well deserved sip of his ale when one of the fratching Yewish women who answered to
"Cordy" stepped forth levelling her large bow at him. He barely had time to curse under his breath when the arrow struck him violently, high on the shoulder from little more than a few feet.
He looked around in shock as the arrow jutted from his shoulder, his grip loosened on his bottle of ale and it fell to the floor as Raiden dropped to his knees, blood seeping down his naked torso. Who knows whether the woman
"Cordy" was smashed on mead or high on weed... Perhaps it was a failed assassination attempt? She then teased her female companion going on about some fella called Cupid as she loosed a second arrow at her, nicking the woman on the arm with a wild shot.
The Trinsic Rose's Pool Party in full swing!Some of the party goers gathered around Raiden and Sergeant Hoagie wrenched the arrow from his shoulder while Recruit Jaekel held him steady. The madwoman from Yew was now trying to blame someone called Karn for this assault as her companion, a shortish woman with intriguing eyes grabbed her pack and rushed to stem the flow of blood and patch up Cove's Captain as best she could.
Still smarting from his injury Raiden tried to enjoy what was left of the party. A particular highlight being Vesper's baron slipping and smashing his head against the side of the pool, though that did little to lighten Raiden's now foul mood. He'd spent years dodging arrows and bolts from Yew's Marksmen and the Royal Marksman Regiment only to be felled by one at a pool party.
Sergeant Grayner's wife offered some advice...
"Keep your arrows to yourself and your bow upon the shelf!" Wise words Raiden thought, if a little late. He gingerly donned his armour and headed to the Yewish compound only to find it deserted so after visiting Britain's healers he set off on a walk to calm down.
