This was the first meeting of Grenadiers for some time and was threefold in it's purpose. Firstly I ran through some Grenadier basics and refreshed and reminded those present of their duty. Secondly we tested Grenadier mettle and bodyguard skills by escorting the Baron through the first two caverns of the Covetous mines and thirdly we enjoyed an ale and displayed no little Grenadier swagger at the Keg and Anchor in Trinsic.
Grenadier Duties.~ Protect the Baron.
~ Protect and patrol the Baronship Household buildings as you would the graveyard, orc fort and Cove town. Reporting them in the patrol log.
~ First line of Defence! With the border wars ceasefire the Altmere outpost/Grenadier Halls are now our front line. The lands to the North and West are now governed by the Loyalist vassal Baron Fairholm and his blue skirts, with the Guardsman Militia retreated back into Stonekeep. Patrol and reinforce our borders with sentry posts vigorously.
~ Grenadiers, leaders of men and lead by example. Although lesser guardsmen may be tardy a Grenadier is never so. Lead missions large or small if other guardsmen are lazy or looking for leadership. Regular Grenadiers and above are also encouraged to take on an apprentice and promote the Baron's Own Grenadiers to the lower ranks at all times.
~ Honour and Sacrifice are the virtues the Grenadiers hold most dear. Practice and discipline in these virtues may just see the Avatar smile favourably on you in times of dire need. Whenever you find yourselves alone practice these virtues and they will serve you well.
~ Grenadier tasks will also be reintroduced along with frequent Grenadier trainings, get togethers and Brotherhood hunts. Make sure these tasks are completed in a timely manner lest you incur the displeasure of the Baron.
A Stroll Around Covetous.After I had put my points across to my gathered brethren we set forth to Covetous to hone our fighting skills and escort the Baron as he strolled around the upper caverns. Sergeant Hoagie caught up with us as we left the first of the mines. He loves the boys in bronze I can tell!
The Baron's Wine Run.After we had worked up a thirst we took a trip to Trinsic and the Keg and Anchor, one of the Baron's favourite establishments. After roundly abusing the locals and ordering our drinks we spent the rest of the night unwinding and blowing off a little steam... Well deserved I say!
