Raiden, Commander. (leading)
Kal ShadowHand, Officer Cadet.
Perrin, Mercenary.
Faden Wildheart, Mercenary.
Kyte, Mercenary Recruit.
Garrison Hawke, Mercenary Recruit.

Our objective this eve was to retake the Vesper Customs building, the scene of The Company's only reverse thus far in the conflict.

Whether it was overconfidence at our domination of the battles so far or a lack of confidence at returning to the scene of our only defeat i don't know, but something didn't feel right with the men.

Perhaps it was the fact we were understrength and had little in the way of archer support nor Kas's wizardry or that Chancellor Cocidius had placed all Union forces, including The Company under the direct leadership of Devante that weakened our spirits a little. Who knows... What I do know is the ensuing battle was swift and brutal and ended in only The Company's second defeat of the war.

We stormed the Customs building three times and three times we were repulsed, battered, bruised and burnt. The fighting was fast and fierce but ultimately this was a decisive victory for the Militia and will no doubt strengthen their resolve when a victory here for the Union would surely have brought them to their knees.

It's true Union forces were greatly outnumbered this eve. In fact the Vesper Milita fielded almost as many mages as men The Company put into the field in total but the manner of our defeat still bit at me. The next engagement would be crucial. Another win for the Militia and the tide of the war could turn.

The Company could not allow that to happen.

The pay we received this eve went straight into the coffers. I didn't feel anyone did enough to merit even losing pay and to be fair to them, the lads didn't either.

(OOC: Apologies for the tardiness of this report. I didn't realise I hadn't done it until I came to crop the screenies for Tuesday night's battle. Roll Eyes)
