Raiden I don't want to sound like a party pooper here but restricting them to command only just for aesthetic reasons over functional/play reasons isn't too good.

Ninja belts are not purely for Command use, they are awared to those who progress through the ranks to earn the rank of Veteran Mercenary or above.

I would rather restrict an item for cultural roleplay reasons rather than simply allowing it for the sake of utilising game mechanics.

The staple belt is as much a part of Covian history and culture as the Covian Cap, Chelmsford, Shadwell's peg leg, Arkay's pee obsession and Greystone's nautical navigation. Oh... And Hoagie's alleged pie eating.

Whereas Ninjitsu's origins lie in Tokuno and the skill always has been and still is restricted within BoC.

Giving up a piece of Covian roleplay culture that has been around for longer than I have for the sake of letting a select few people whizz silly lttle metal stars at eachother, well... It just isn't Covian!!!

If you want to use shurikens you may do so, by all means, having firstly convinced Command of the reasoning behind a none Tokuno national having learned the art of ninjitsu and secondly by advancing to Veteran or Hardened Mercenary or becoming an officer and part of Command. Wink

Well there is also the fukiya dart, and I must surrender this cause I know the staple belt is a large piece of covian history.  Besides I just tested this and you can throw shurikens without actually wearing the belt:) Hurray!

Hehe, i dont think we need ninja belts on scouts anyway, because they are scouts, not ninjas.

And besides, Cove call them staple belts anyway, and the idea of using it to carry shurikens doesnt exist in Cove.

To be honest, it sucks with the arms on, arms without rocks.

Yea normal leather arms do kinda suck lookwise, easy fix is use hiro sode instead.

I'd be interested in adding a stealther to the ranks also if I could  Wink. Celuvian that Stalker title rang a bell, took me a little while but it was a specialist class for rangers in Balder's Gate 2

Stalker
Stalkers serve as covert intelligence gatherers, comfortable in both wilderness and urban settings. They are the spies, informants and interrogators and their mastery if stealth makes them deadly opponents.

Just a suggestion but why not allow the scouts to have a dress uniform and also a "work" uniform, with a little leeway on the work uniform....maybe limit it to mixing and matching of regular leather armor and ninja armor, colored shadow of course!

I can understand the importance of uniformity for the regular (visible) members of The Company, but scouts aren't always seen...and sometimes if they are spotted wouldn't we maybe want some deniablity on The Company's part?

I think any idea is a good one, but nay ecpexct exotic Tokunian style armours to become readily available and even less likley to be authorized by the Command Structure. Stalker also sounds like a plausable title, it says assassin. The current popular title of Pathfinder says more Agent and scout type. Not all sneaks poison, so perhaps there is a true difference behind them. *Shrug*  Just my two bits.

-MK

As for that belt. . . you'll have to take it from my cold dead waist. Muahaha! J/K. . .  I'll take it off. But only after IG confrontation! Drama drama drama. O-M-G becky shes sooo dramatic.

Hallelujah!

But having Pathfinders and Stalkers would be confusing no? Unless someone came up with something brilliant..

The Scout/Rogue character I like to play is more an assassin than anything really.
