Grenadier Trial ~ Delferium

Greetings Buttons,

So ye want ter go down in history as a Covian hero eh? Well, ye've come ter the right place. The Grenadiers are heroes one and all. It'll either be the makin' of ye or the breakin' of ye...

Here are yer trials:


Discipline.



Discipline is key for a Grenadier, whether it be on the parade ground, in the heat of battle or at a rather tedious foreign affairs visit. It's the ability to keep ones discipline under extreme conditions that sets a Grenadier apart. To this end you will lead an extreme training session for your fellow Grenadiers and also regular army members to test the limits of their endurance and discipline.

~ Lead an extreme/wilderness training session.
~ At least 4 other guardsman must attend.
~ Whether this be altitude training in the mountains or jungle, desert or snow wilderness training is up to you.
~ Forage and erect a base camp before you begin your training.
~ Your training session must last at least 30 minutes.
~ Post a full report below.


Ability To Fight.



Grenadiers are fearsome warriors and are feared at home and abroad. I hear you are a keen Avatarian Buttons, so this mission will not only test your fighting and leadership abilities but it will nay doubt please the churchies too. You are to head to Fire Isle and cleanse the heathens there in the name of the Baron and Cove.

~ Lead a mission to the Fire Temple
~ At least 5 other guardsmen are to join you on this mission.
~ Cleanse the Guardian's spawn that worship at the altar atop the heathenous temple.
~ Slay a dragon lord (Greater Dragon) and hack out it's fang as a trophy for our lord Octiovus.
~ Post a full report below including a sketch of the felled dragon lord.


Loyalty.



With Juniors such as ye choosin' their squads and recruits randomly explodin' around the place the army needs a constant intake of fresh warriors. You will lead a recruitment trip to New Haven and seek to inspire the citizens there to join our grand army. You will bestow upon the uneducated Havenites the virtues of the Covian army in general and the Baron's Own Grenadiers in particular.

~ Lead a recruitment mission to New Haven.
~ At least 5 other guardsmen must attend, including the Baron himself.
~ Construct a Covian outpost and recruitment stall.
~ Leave banners at all the usual locations: portal, town gates, training areas and old town etc.
~ Hold a parade in the town square to keep the men occupied.
~ This recruitment exercise must last at least 30 minutes.
~ Post a full report below.

Once these tasks have been completed, seek out either the Baron, Grenadier Sergeant Keres or myself to swear the Grenadier Oath.

Weh set off to the hot, steamy jungles of Trinsic. Weh found ah nice spot beside ah mountain side, with trees an' with ah nice spot fer basecamp so weh set up. Th' men 'ad t' collect wood and construct ah large fort in full armor. Ye nevah know when you'll beh trapped in th' jungle an' need ah sentreh!

With camp set up, weh did some basic excersises. Fifteen push-ups, seventeen sit-ups an' ah few laps around th' fort, all of which were done in armor. It tested their endurance.



As fer th' next bit, th' men were paired up and put in competition. Hoagie an' Kado were t' race to th' top o' th' mountain and back. Kurt and Keres were t' climb th' same palm tree an' see who falls out first. Th' loser of each would 'ave t' carry th' others gear. It was quite amusin' t' watch. Hoagie was clearleh ah goat of some kind while Kado was pathetic. Kurt and Keres had ah large brawl in th' tree when finalleh they both fell out. To decide who would 'ave t' carreh th' gear, Kurt and Keres were pitted in th' fort fer ah duel. Kurt won in th' end an' Keres had to carry his gear.

But weh were nearleh done. Weh packed up th' fort an' had a walk through th' woods. Then some ants ambushed us! Good battle training. Weh destroyed them an' moved on. Back to Cove weh went, better.

At first there were three of us, Raiden, Aylmer and ah. A horrible turnout! Where were all those guards? Sleeping?! Eating!? Breeding?! Being useless... We waited for a considerable amount of time then decided to head to some meeting in Yew and try it again later.


So weh went to th' 'orrible meeting and when weh came back weh had just enough men to start off the hunt. They were onleh an' hour late, no big deal. Through the gate to Fire Isle we went and we ascended up the stairs to challenge the demon hordes but th' vereh dragon lord Ah was saving for last showed it's ugleh lizard face and chased us weh lured it into the jungle. The dragon was Impossible extremely easy to kill. Weh skirmished it for a while then ganged up on it and hacked at it's legs until it fell. A fang was retrieved after the initial failed attempt. It's oral healthiness could use some work as it's tooth shattered immediately.



Our second try at attacking th' demon temple failed again. ANOTHER angreh dragon lord was in town and it also wanted to kill us... What a surprise.. Weh coulda killed that one all by ourselves ye know, but some friendly dragon gave us some help. Weh took th' other dragon's tooth fer fun.


Tis ah shame ah lost most of mah sketches!

After facing two extremeleh large lizards weh went home. Was good enough fer th' day.

Weh went t' Haven an' set up ah recruitment stall an' some banners. Th' Baron quickleh made 'imself at home by revealing his portable thrown while weh set about trickin' people into joining.



Th' general populace of Haven was rubbish, such a shame what th' place has come to since th' old town was blown up.. Nothin' but litter on th' ground an' general loitering from th' people. Most were wearing ridiculous suits anehway, would nevah fit in with Cove.. Loads o' Vesperians too! Placin' banners an' all, but weh outshone them with even bigger banners.



Keres managed to get one citizen t' come along fer ah tour of th' barracks though. Details will be posted below
