Slaver Killed!

It had been some time since we had arrested the slaver responsible for the kidnap of several Covians. Through the efforts of a number of brave guardsmen, all of the missing Covians had been returned safe and sound, and the man responsible simply awaited trial, after which he would no doubt face the hangman's noose.

Myself, Me'an Silen and cadet Elizabeth Martin went down to the cells to check on the prisoner. What we found was the man rolling around the floor, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain. Next to him was a tray of half-eaten food, and trodden into the mud was a note:

"A serpent's venom to kill a serpent, be gone from this world."

It seems the man had been poisoned by his own kind! Quickly, we set about attempting to make the man throw up the poisoned food, but it was too late. The man had died, and thus, has evaded Covian Justice. It is troubling that his allies would be so daring as to sneak poisoned food into our very own cells!

Dragging him out of the cell, we carried him to the coast, where the flood waters were high on the banks. We tied rocks to the man, and on the count of three, tossed him over the banks for him to be claimed by the raging sea. A man of his kind didn't deserve a proper burial.

None shall mourn him.
