We began with the usual run-through o' parade orders, includin' formin' a tracker's line an' facin' various ways, and were made t'practise o'er and o'er until everyone were timin' it correctly.
This series o' parade orders manuevered us eventually into a double-line, each facin' the other, and we were told t'disarm and have a wrestle with the person opposite us. We kept on like that for some time, 'til we were ordered t'pile onto Captain Grayner. Good fun.
Captain Grayner took over t'lead a teamwork exercise. We were instructed t' form into two teams. Each team were t' make the highest tower possible usin' nothin' but themselves an' what they had on 'em. I were in the team lead by Lusion, an' that's why we came in second, though we did manage a fair tower o' sticks, bundles o' cloth, shields, an' ourselves, 'til we toppled. T'other team propped themselves up usin' mainly just their bodies an' shields, from what I caught.
Keres sent us marchin' off t'the orc fort next, wearin' no armour, but sure in th' strength o' our numbers and the Sergeant's leadership. We hunted down three o' their giant champions, fellin' 'em like so many trees, an' wipin' out some 'normous number o' their smaller kin. We had some 12,000 gold t'bring home for our troubles.
