He'd been taking a few paces and then the world seemed to roar and the sun had comedown before him and many an angry hornet swarmed about him. He landed with a hard thud many paces from where he had stood, his ears ringing painfully with blood trickling from them. A small part of him knew a bomb had gone off but his brain as a whole refused to comprehend or respond. His vision swam and was dark in spots from the retinal burns.

When he finally took note of the blood he thought his ears where gone perhaps blasted away, he pawned at them desperately until he grasped them firmly. He sighed relieved and attempted to stand. The attempt sent him careening into the hedge and he soon realized everyone was whispering or simply mouthing words he had to scream just to hear himself.

With help he stumbled into the hospital. It was there that his eyes started to water but with blood not tears. His ducts had probably ruptured from the blast, that meant his eyes would suffer a similar fate. The ringing didn't stop and now he clutched his ears in pain and groaned while Railen examined his eyes and determined his brain to be damaged. He felt an overwhelming desire to sleep. A desperate desire to sleep, he yawned deeply. But they wouldn't let him sleep. They rushed him to the Healers then, apparently he was in some real danger. But he only wanted to sleep.

The got him to the healers and the Commander ordered them to help as best they could. He then ordered Kobra not to sleep. Why was the Commander giving him such and order if he wasn't on watch? He saluted anyway and the commander then Darek left.

The healers began their evaluation checking his symptoms. His Iris had shrank to pin points, the blood still came from his eyes, ears and nose. He yawned and they brought smelling salts to keep him awake. The examination carried on for many hours. Eventually his eyes rolled back into his head and he began to spasm and convulse his body seizing. It was then that they strapped him down as best they could and performed an emergency operation on his skull. Once he was fully strapped down, the grab a drill and bore into his skull to let the blood come off his brain. The procedure was new. . . and the healers apprentices all wondered and asked their teacher if Marcus would live. The Doctor sighed and looked up towards the heavens.  "It is in Higher Beings hands now. . ."

Though the pressure had been relieved Marcus remained unconscious through out the night. He would slip into a coma and only time could tell if he would recover.

Tristan Layed awake in bed, wondering what his Dad was doing he had snuck in Rahter late from another Adventure. but His Father wasnt home.. it didnt make sence.  "Maybe Dad's off killing them Green Skins"  he thought to himself thinking of his father fighting his way through an army of Zombies and Litch's. "Thats my daddy" He said to himself. he Drifted off to sleep. in the night he had a Horrid nightmare of the Undead tearing his father apart. limb by limb. Natrualy he woke up and went seaking his father. Only to find him... not in the house. he went down and sat in the kitchen wondering what unrully hour it must be and thought back to the Academy. "They would tan my Behind if they found me awake" He sighed and fell back asleep in the kitchen telling himself "When morning comes ill go find my Daddy in town"

Marcus groaned in his never ending sleep. His dreams where troubled. War ragged on all the Covian borders and slowly but surly those borders shrank until all of Cove burned a bright awful red. The shire was in flames and black smoke obscured the view of mountain and seas. No gulls cried in the harbour, and the nightingale did not sing in the darkness that descended. Screams echoed off walks and arrows sang through the air ending in little thwumphs as they marked their targets. Men and women died and their homes burned. Starkly in his dream he saw the Baron himself cut down and he screamed a blood curdling scream of denial his eyes opening suddenly. An old healer clutched his heart and collapsed and others spilled their drinks or pulled a splint too tightly. The doctor rushed to his side and urged him to lay down as he sat up swinging his legs out of his bed. the Baron! The Barons hurt! I need to--" They piled on him and forced him back covering his nose and lips with ether, his eyes drooped and he sagged back into a more easy sleep. His coma had passed from fright and desperate need but his wounds would be long in mending. . .

He woke thenext day to find his vision blurred by a wrapping, some salve was in his eyes. His ears where muffed and all the world seemed "gauzy" to his senses. He called out for the doctor but the only sound form his lips sounded like the slurring of the simple minded. His tongue did not flick correctly and his lips did not firmly form his words. A doctors cool hand touched his forhead and removed the muffs from his ears. His doctor spoke with a firm voice neither of normal volume but not a holler. "Marcus was is it? You've been injured, some device of fire and metal gave you quite the toss. You are a doctor and once a student here so I shall tell you it all in full. Your hearing has been affected if you wish to keep it as it is you should muff your ears when you sleep and avoid any more noises of this magnitude. . . no more of these. . bombs was it they called them? Also you've noticed your speech is confused and slow sounding. This may pass, it is part from the hearing loss and part from the damage done to your mind, your motor skills and functions are dull. Again this all may pass eventually but I can not guarantee it. We shall make you comfortable.
