- A letter to Preceptor Hugo -

[OOC: The following is only ment for Hugo/Tib/Oct and cannot be mentioned IC by any other than those that have talked with him or me about it, or has a very good reason for sneaking into the church. I post it only to show people what activity the church has.]

My excellency, Master of the Templars, Preceptor Hugo

I have long been going around with the thought of digging into the study of the arcane arts. I have seen many a good man with powers of the magicians, and they seem quite capable of defending themselves with this skill.
Since my assault during my pilgrimage from Yew to Cove, where I was assaulted by bandits, the Avatar bless the militia for their avenge, I have been quite nervous about wandering the streets alone.
It has come to my knowledge that a guard called, Arc, is a quite good arcanist and that he is one of the best in the militia. I would like to ask permission to begin as an apprentice of his in study of these arts.
It has also been said to me, that the apprenticeship of a mage is quite expencive, so I must also ask permission to loan money from the Church coffers, to support my training.
I humble ask thee, master Hugo, to consider this request, and remember, that once I have learnt these arts, I will be able to teach new disciples the ways, so that also they may be able to protect themselves walking the streets. I would much more like a Templar escort, but since we do not have many Templars, I believe this is the best solution.
If you have any other proposals, please let me know. I will await your answer with great anticipation master Hugo.

*Hugo glanced over the letter, frowning somewhat.. He rose from the chair he was sitting in, and paced around briefly before sitting down to write a reply*

My brethren..

I shall accept your request for tutorage in the arcane arts; but I do so with caution. Many a good man hath indeed wielded the Arcane arts, yet so doth it corrupt the very souls of the unwary. Increase your knowledge in the arts, yet, do not forget to increase your caution also.
