Watchman’s Trial: Larinya Angalae
*Kelly sits down and nods happily, shivering in the sudden cold draught seeping through the window. She picks up her pen with a shaking hand, then presses it to her parchment, hand uneasy:* “Another one eh? Let’s see if she can get her Covian Cap by Avamass, then…”
Task One: Making Your Mark
With the Altmere Mission undergoing, we need to keep up patrolling these areas. As a Junior Guardsman, you must have the ability to lead your own sentries and patrols on a regular basis. For this reason, you must carry out a patrol to the Altmere Outpost, fending off any unwanted inhabitants in the surroundings. Whilst here, you shall set up a reasonable-sized sentry.
Requirements:*Your Sentry must be manned for at least twenty minutes.
*At least three other guardsmen must assist you on this task.
*Citizens may assist you, but they are to be fully protected by yourself and guardsman attendees.
Task Two: Examples in Exercise
For this task, you are to assist in keeping the Guardsmen fit throughout the Avamass season. The sudden increased intake of food needs to be controlled, so we don’t end up with a tonne of chubby guardsmen. In order to do this, you must organise different competitions in exercise for guardsmen and citizens to participate in.
Requirements:*At least two sporting/exercising events must be organised by yourself with sketches as evidence.
*You may be as imaginative and creative as you wish to be. However, ensure your tasks are actually accomplishable.
*You must lead your competitive events.
*The amount of competitors in your events is not a requirement, but you are encouraged to gather as many as you can: the more the merrier!
*These events can take place outside of uniform for guardsmen competitors.
Task Three: Afternoon Activities
I am aware your duty rota tends to take place in the early to mid afternoon. Because of this, I ask you to drop leaflets around New Haven as the first section of this task. For the second section, you must look for a job that seemingly needs doing around Cove. This part of the task tests your own initiative.
Requirements:*At least fifteen banners must be dropped around different parts of New Haven.
*An attempt at verbally recruiting must be made.
*For the second part, appropriate tasks could entail things such as: a nursing duty, a thorough clean of the Barracks, various patrols, offering guardsman protection to the tavern, etc. Be creative!
*Any additional guardsmen may assist you in the above tasks. However, you may complete this alone.
Final Requirement: Reports should be written for all the tasks within this trial, including sketches and description of processes and events.
Good luck, Watchman. I hope to see you in the Covian Cap soon!*Signed*
Kelly Sanderson, Sergeant
