Operation Profile: On the orders of the Council and Baron, I led our troops into the heart of the infected areas of Yew to offer our aid to the Yewish Militia who, according to Declarakdur's report, are hard-pressed to defend their lands from the growing hordes of plague-ridden zombies.
Special Equipment Issued: Leather or cloth masks to cover the mouth and nose, as well as full armor to prevent contact of infectious material with bare skin.
Standing Orders: Any clothing or equipment coming into contact with plague material should be either burnt or otherwise very thoroughly cleaned. Those exhibiting signs of infection should be quarantined. If infection is confirmed, they are to be KILLED AND BURNT - they're already dead.
Operation Report: Upon arriving, we found a group of civilians and militiamen desperately attempting to scrub themselves of the taint plaguing their lands. We opted to guard the bathhouse briefly, until the local militia arrived with news that Stonekeep was under siege by assorted plague abominations. After evacuating the civilians to relative safety, we joined the Militia in a push to relieve Stonekeep.
Arriving in Stonekeep, we cleared the area before splitting into groups to clear the surrounding countryside. Our mission was fairly short-lived, however, as we were all collectively forced back into Stonekeep. After another desperate stand, most of the Militia departed on a mission to destroy the source of this outbreak, whilst the Covians and various Trainees remained behind to guard the Keep itself.
Left with little more to aid us than a handful of untested trainees and wounded militiamen, I had the Grenadiers form a wall of interlocking heater shields to hold the steps of the tavern, while those behind us either tended to the wounded, aided us in pushing back the attacking hordes, or fired various projectiles over the shield wall.
After what seemed like days of fighting, with Delcarakdur and Marcus Kobra suffering injuries sufficient to warrant their evacuation to the rear of the lines, the assault finally subsided and a large explosion was heard in the distance. The Yewish Militia returned shortly, and it was declared that this most recent outbreak had been halted. I had any Guardsmen who were wounded or low on supplies withdraw, and left a small detachment to continue containment efforts.
