My name is Siegfried of Moonglow, a scribe of good name and standing. I bring you the tale of Recruit Erik Arkay as he himself is unable to write nor read.

The sun was already high in the sky, signaling noon, when Watchman Baraz rallied the recruits.  Myself, Recruit Troy and Recruit Garand answerred the call and were accompanied by Cleric Odenetheus outside the barracks.

Watchman Baraz opened a portal to Despise and the recruits were soon engulfed in the stench and darkness of Despise.

It didn't take long before a whole horde of Lizardmen assaulted our small party. They are a foul stinking lot, Lizardman, and the smell does not improve once dead.

After a while the smell of dead Lizardmen and sweat started to mingle and form the fine smell of battle. We came upon a small alcove where a particularly large group of Lizardmen seemed determined to slit some noblemans throat or do other nasty stuff with him. The Militia stormed in and the poor sod started to wail about his chains while the Militia was still slashing away. Apparently someone untied him because he began storming around like a headless chicken. I swear I was aiming for a particular large Lizardman and he jumped in the line of the shot. I'm sad to say he died instantly. I shall pray for my soul at the next mass and can only hope he himself led the life of a faithful.

At this moment we were all starting to become burdonned with leather and our progress was slow and painful. Father Odenetheus decided the local shrine was in dire need of cleansing.

Afterwards we started to retreat back to the entrance. Once we left the stench of the Dungeon we quickly made our way to the barracks. Once the leather was deposited there and a quick bottle of Ale emptied we all took some hopefully wellearned rest. Who knows when the officers would call us to arms again?
