Unfortunatly I think there have been a few problems with OOC behaviour and I would just like to remind everyone of a few basic rules, both IC and OOC.
LoS - Line of sight: You can't see through walls. Nor can you see, behind you. Always remember this. In addition, remember name tag's don't float above a character's head, so don't randomly chase the first enemy name tag on the screen.
Power emoting and "super emoting": - Here is an extract from another post on the issue by myself.
To define both terms, (this is purely my opinion)
Power emoting : An emote that doesn't leave a chance for the other party to roleplay ie. *Grabs* *Punches knocking the man to the ground* etc. (Of course, you could say if someone emote's *Grabs* the other party could emote *Dodges* but that's more like an OOC power emote battle to me)
The only time I would really say power emoting is allowed, is when you have a prisoner, as they'd be unable to do much back.
"Super emoting" : Okay, so I made this up. *Grins* But I would class it as when a character constantly "*Dodges*" "*Ducks*" I mean sure, I don't expect a character to be hit and such every time, but I mean, character's will eventually get hit and so on. Second to that, when characters act in a super way. For example when they get punched, they merely emote "*Doesn't flinch, because the punch is so feeble*" then they go on to remark about how feeble the character is. That's extremely annoying OOC, and pretty terrible roleplay, and it's especially annoying in conjunction with character's who are played as cocky IC.
It's not really a hard problem to solve, just add "*Attempts*" or "*Tries*" infront of emotes, and just generally letting your character get knocked about a bit more.
Party:Don't spam party, nor whinge all the way through an event in party. Always try to be polite, and if someone say's something that offends you, don't start a row, just send one of the Cove command an ICQ or board PM.
PVP: Yes, we all enjoy a good fight, but remember we are at heart a roleplay guild, if you want to go PK randomly, go do it in Fel', don't sit there spamming "Can I dress up as a brigand and attack [Guild]!"
Always remember to give warning of an attack. Even something as simple as "Surrender or die!". Also keep in mind not to leave the battle, heal, and come back into the fray multiple times. This can be very annoying for the other party.
I will start to hand out punishment's for people not complying to these rules. You have been warned.
That's all for now, Octie.
