Just a few suggestions and tips that you might want to incoperate into your RP or you just might not agree with!

1. Try Not To Emote Emotions.
From time to time I see things like *Is angry*. A better way to RP an emotion is to consider how you would be conveying that emotion if someone was looking at you. For example if you where confused you could *Furrows his brow*. Another way is to use discriptive emotes such as *Grunts sourly* or *Sighs longingly* to help put what your feeling across to other people.

2. Emoting Sounds.
Emoting sounds can add nice atmosphere to your RP. I’m sure you’ve all seen Darath clanking on his helm before combat. It can’t be used all the time but if you choose the times well it can be a nice addition. Situations to use it in would be things like eating and drinking as well as hitting things!

3. Emoting When Someone’s Looking At You.
In game if someone *looks* or *glances* at you it makes sense to let him or her know what they are seeing. Are you crossing your arms? Are you swinging your weapon? Are you looking pissed off? Etc etc. From there people can use that as a basis for more RP.

4. Don’t Stop Emoting!
I hate to see people just standing about not doing anything. Your never totally still doing nothing in real life are you? Keep emoting, it makes RP happen.

5. A Little Imagination Goes A Long Way.
Often things like patrols can be boring, more like a chore than fun. If your going to lead a patrol try and change things up a bit. Change the point of the patrol, for instance I recently led a patrol of the shire which was actually a bear hunt. I said it was open season on bears and that we could make a few coins on their hides and we went out tracked and skinned some bears. It was fun. Another example was a patrol to the orc fort where we dismantled their fortification, taking the water out of the barrels and removing them. Anyway what I’m saying is a little thought can turn a standard patrol into a chance for good spontaneous RP.

I defintely agree with number one on your list there Darath, I always find that a tad annoying.

However, what you said about always emoting, its not always a good idea to emote when you're not doing anything, for example...

Scene : Outside the Barracks, 2 lonely Recruits.

'Righty then, I'm off for th'night, g'night! *waves*'

'Right then, night!'

[Recruit one leaves, and recruit two is now on his own, with his head against the wall]

'*slightly moves his left finger*

*places his tongue on the molar closest to his canine*

*click his toe inside his boot*'

[End Scene]

OOC things to add:

1) Partychat is the devil. The times I see people asking to leave or for bandages or whatnot on partychat while they can just as fine do it ingame baffles me. When partychatting you're not RPings, so cease it and RP!

2) Don't just do monsterbashing or forming up and PvPfighting. Take your time to RP. Make a big fuss out of killing that Troll. Be afraid of the dark...Don't rush through things but grasp every oppertunity to increase the roleplaying level.

thankfully, I past the afraid of trolls level with delc! Wink

Anyhow, most of you guys could do well to listen to what Darath say. Loads of good points there. I should also take note of them as well! Well written Darath!  Smiley

And for hiders, don't just dissapear in front of everyone. Make an effort to emote *darts off into the shadows* or *hides up against the wall* etc. I know BoC are pretty good with this but the amount of times I see other guilds just suddenly dissapear when they face arrest etc. is soooo annoying.

Aye, its quite embarrassing when people do this, and I have to admit I have done it in the past but only in emergencies Wink

Use of the LC always try and teach people to do it out of sight of do it with emotes.

I do agree with this but for some of us who are still training hiding, if one would say *silently slipes into the shadows* and fail to hide it would create a rather embarissing situation for that person so try to add the word "attempts." Adding this one simple word will save you from this embarissing moment and also stop power emoting.  Wink
