[The following is a conversation between two locals at the tavern, if your character visits the tavern often, he or she will likely overhear this conversation, or something along the lines of such]
Two men are sitting alongside each other at the bar, they appear to have paused in their conversation to order a round of drinks. As the large glasses are filled to the brim with the foamy, amber ale and gold exchanges hands, one of the men turns to the other:
So, apparently, the chap who died in the lighthouse?
His companion looks up from his ale.
Aye?
Murdered. I 'eard he uh.. provoked the anger of some crime boss. Unpaid loans or summat, scary eh?
The man nods agreeingly, he pauses to sip his ale.
Any ideas who did it? I heard that some Japanese noble in cove was involved in some questionable business dealings, was it him?
Nah, I doubt that, you're thinking of Shinrai. He's not a criminal, though there have been some nasty accusations, it's not likely. But some say that since Covian crime activity has been goin' down, some outsiders have been trying to gain control from the inside.
The two men, having exhausted their current conversation topic, finish their ales and begin to head home. They put on their travelling cloaks and walk outside of the tavern.
