Just an idea about the Dabloon,
It's currently being used by citizens as a means to pay and sell items and to get promoted.

I was thinking that you could give the same concept to the army, get payed each weak a certain amount bassed on rank, and then you can spend it on wears from the citizens.
Could start a whole economy inside BoC!

Thats a great idea Thomas but we'll take one step at a time, if we can somehow find a way to incorporate the army into the doubloon system i'm sure Veldrin will make it happen.

For the time being, Command is swamped with introducing new elements and we'll take things slowly but surely.

I'm bringing this back because I think it's an incredible idea, limit spending even at taverns etc.  That way soldiers will have to conserve they're money.  That seems quite alot more realistic to me.  Just chipping in my two cents.  Wink Kev

Wasn't there some sort of doubloon system in T*M? Coppers I think it was, used them to buy... stuff... potions?

Sure it sucked, but do you know any Covians who will be spending they're hard earned wages on "Potions!" it would simply make recruits and officers alike spend less at the taverns, and really make money a factor in BoC.  I think it would be a huge step towards more members.

Good idea, but ultimately too hard to manage I think.

Unless we monitored it the way we do, speaking our character as an example.

GRD are using a system like that which seems to work well its looks quite easy to keep track of and makes it more rewarding for yourself

I think it would be a good idea to try to reintroduce it, I dunno about the Grd'ians system, but it could perhaps be used to buy services from the citizens. *Wiggles eyebrows*

Like potions, weapons, clothes, customizing houses, maps, bandages, beer, repairs etc.

People could even rob people for the cash, bandits could steal an x-amount from you depending on rank.

Soldiers get doubloons each week and for hunts, and citizens get them for providing them with different things plus perhaps a wage dependant on their rank.

Just my two pennies (cents are silly)

I always liked the idea.
But I remember back in my Command days how it was struck off immediately simply because a lot of the ex-T*M players (T*M being the Guild that pretty much invented the system) felt that it led to the downfall of the Guild.

Also, the sheer vastness of monitoring and organising the whole system is killer!
But ya know.. Mebbe its time someone gave it a shot.
