Khaelieth sat in the garden relaxing, chewing a golden straw. Everything in the garden was sleepy, tranquil. It was as if all was happy and content. The flowers stalks waved gently in the wind, sending waves of sweet perfume towards Khaelieth when the soft breeze graced their late autumn blossoms. His back against the water trough, he looked towards the coast he had trod just a few days later. The blood red sun was setting, cascading the world in its crimson sheen. The sun blazed fiercely, turning the lazy waves breaking against the beach into a rainbow of colours each time the spray rose.

A doe nudged Khaelieth's hand, searching for lush grass. Looking at her, Khaelieth smiled. Nature's creatures were wonderful indeed. Patting its nuzzle gently, Khaelieth searched his pockets for the food he'd brought. As elves eat little -unless it was Dellamona's pies- he hadn't brought more than a few dried apricots and an apple. The apple was a dazzling red, picked by himself in Cove's orchards. Opening his palm, he put the apricots in the middle, his wedding ring glinting in the last sunlight, before it would rise again tomorrow like a phoenix. The doe fed quietly when Khaelieth heard a loud snort and a hoof stamping. A huge hart was glaring at him, its antlers white as ivory, but with a scarlet sheen because of the light. Its eyes glinted angrily until Khaelieth threw the apple to its cloven feet. It nudged it with its nose before it snorted, biting at it. Chuckling to himself, Khaelieth sat back, almost falling into reverie.

The air had turned chill. The sky had turned velvet, the starlight casting everything in a bright, serene light. Rising, he looked around. The moonlight cascade was bright tonight, the full moon making Khaelieth cast a shadow. Only the hoofprints revealed that there ever had been any deer here. Stretching, Khaelieth got up. His eyes searched. No sign of her tonight either. Sighing, Khaelieth thought he should crawl somewhere dry, the clouds above heralded rain. Just as he finished conjuring the iridescent gate the downpour came down. Standing in the archway, Khaelieth looked back. The rain reflected the starlight, as if thousands of tiny stars were falling to the ground. Turning his back on the garden, he took a step through.

His subconsciousness had apparently whisked him away to Moonglow. The Moonglow Garden. But it was dry. Sitting down on the bench, he looked around. He let his spells wander, doing whatever his heart wanted it to do. He could hear his lips whispers incantations into the air, then seep into the soft grass. He could hear the plants sprout and blossom behind him. Without looking behind him, he whisked himself home. Or as much as it could be called home.
