I was browsing the UO forums on stratics this morning and appearantly when you have 120 magery and a piece of blackrock, you can cast the armagheddon spell.

Can anyone confirm this?
(if so then it could make for helluva event! Cheesy)

Blackrock is an item used by the Zog Cabal (Remember them? Cheesy), a component used as a regeant to cast the Armageddon spell that would destroy the world. Either by an OSI feckup, or omgooses, a planned event, blackrock started spawning for a short time on all shards. About 10 peices were collected, and sold off for like, tens of millions (if not hundreds). Dunno about casting the spell..ill look into it.

Shard] - Sosaria
[Type] - Mystic arts / reference

[Title] - Blackrock
[Author] - Horace the Mage

Blackrock

by Horace the Mage

[Page 1]
Blackrock, the
unbreakable, jet black
mineral that is found only
in the deepest of mines.
Numerous experiments
have been performed with
this recently discovered
mineral, including those

[Page 2]
by Rudyom of Cove, and
others.
Blackrock is
indestructible by any
normal means, though by
the use of a relatively
minor spell, a small
amount of the substance

[Page 3]
can be made malleable for
a short time. Blackrock
seems to slow and block,
when used in large
quantities, the flow of
the Ether around it.

[Page 4]
Several years ago the
Followers of Armageddon
aquired several blocks of
blackrock which they were
converting into crystalline
blackrock.

[Page 5]
Crystalline Blackrock is
a derivative of blackrock.
This is the pure form of
blackrock required for use
in the Armageddon spell.

[Page 6]
The reagent blackmoor,
which may have been used
in lost necromatic spells,
is actually a mixture of
earth containing flakes of
blackrock. It may have
been used to boost the
power of spells or to

[Page 7]
control the form for the
spell being cast.
Blackrock also has
other, not yet fully
explored characteristics,
one of which deals with
teleportation. When
imbued with powerful

[Page 8]
magics of some kind,
blackrock seems to aid
the process of
inter-dimensional travel.
This magic is beyond even
the powers of even our
most powerful mages,
though perhaps someday

[Page 9]
its secrets will be
discovered.
Blackrock, while widely
known in intellectual
circles, is far from
common, and is in fact
the rarest known mineral,
surpassing even gold.

[Page 10]
Known deposits have
been located in both the
Minoc and Vesper mines.
This mineral may not be
limited to our own world,
either. It is suspected
that the Ophidians may
use blackrock in the

[Page 11]
construction of their holy
objects.
There are several known
samples of Blackrock in
Britannia, however their
locations are kept secret
due to the threat their
mere existence presents.

I looked around for a rock... ended up having to fork over 8mil just to get a piece so I decided to just... not buy it!

Could anyone confirm though, is this new blackrock the same as the original necromancy regent (implemented in 1998, given to people who completed the Hedgemaze challenge as at the time necromancy would "be introduced soon")?

These aren't the same items from 1992, but they are the same things. They recently spawned by accident for a while on all shards, and what's being sold now is what was gathered during that brief period.
