Vince leaned back in his chair as he flicked through the latest batch of Grenadier applications.

Darkmoon eh? Seems keen, as well he should be. Finest squad in Cove and all.
Lets see how he handles a grenadier Trial!

Greetings Junior Darkmoon,
I reckon it's about time you earned yourself a set of bronze arms eh? It'll not be an easy task, but then, trials rarely are eh? Go forth, and make the Baron proud!

Task number one
Your first task is to be an escorting task. The citizens rely on us guardsmen for protection you see, when out doing their buisness. You are to organise a Resource Gathering Trip, ranging from gathering wood and cotton, through to slaying nasty beasts for their tough hide. You must have in attendance three other guardsmen and at least two citizen. Keep the citizens safe at all costs. This should be led to far away lands, not restricted to the woods surrounding Cove.

Conditions

You must have at least three other guardsmen, as well as at least  two citizens in attendance.

The trip must visit at least Three different locations, with each location having a different supply. (I.e. A forest for wood gathering, A dungeon where you're able to gather leather, and the cotton fields to gather, umm, cotton. These are examples, feel free to get creative as to where you visit)

A full report must be written by yourself, with a painting or two, posted in This Thread

Task Number Two

As a test of your leadership and fighting ability, lead a Grenadier hunt. With at least two full grenadiers, head to the lair of the fearsome bone dragon, located in ilshnear, and bring back a tooth from it's 'corpse'.

Conditions

You must have at least two fully fledged Grenadiers with you on this hunt.

A full report must be written by yourself, with a couple of paintings, posted in This thread

Task Number Three

Your final task shall be to run an in depth training, detailing the key aspects of being a grenadier. Loyalty, brotherhood, discipline should all feature heavily, as well as a section on the effectivness of explosives in various situations. This training should be held in a suitably open location and feature visual aids (For example, when explaining about explosives, set up a dummy to show the most effective place to aim for)

Conditions

At least Five other guardsmen should be present at this training, including one Grenadier who will give pointers should you need them

The training is to be held in a nice open location, A field or such, which shall be chosen by you beforehand

A full report must be written by yourself, with a painting or two, posted in This thread

Once these trials are complete, all that will remain is for you to swear your loyalty to the Baron. Good luck Junior Darkmoon, now go and earn those arms!

 Task 1-

Attending: Evinyatar, William Thatcher, Keldron, Arc, Dias Redd, Maria Emms, Grazgorn, Richard Roeth.

At first I made an announcement that we would be going on a resource-gathering hunt.  Immediately a large group of people showed up.  While pondering what resources exactly we should go and get, I finally decided that going to the forest to chop wood would be an ideal Resource gathering start. Arc and myself made sure that everyone was working to they're full potential and that only the hardest workers would really get any credit.

After awhile, the Commoners began to complain about the grueling work of chopping down large trees and such, so I decided to take on a more interesting "Resource-Gathering Trip"  I told all of the Commoners and Soldiers to meet up in front of the Swaggers Pub and Inn.  Once there, I made sure that everyone was aware of what was about to Happen.

After giving the right command, my entire party of Soldiers, and Commoners charged into swaggers and grabbed whatever they could.  Finally after quite alot of ransacking I called all of the men and women back immediately, on to more important things eh!?  The inside of Swaggers looked as if there had been a circus there.

Shortly thereafter we all headed back to Cove Town, and I ordered all of the men to begin picking Cotton from the one field in town.  Needless to say.. the Cotton was almost nowhere to be found, although the men and women were able to pick just enough to make about.. two or three.. small..tiny.. pillows.

Regards to the Grenadiers! *Signed* Conan Darkmoon.

A Grenadier must be able to sketch in case any pies go missing from the tavern... so he can draw a description *nod nod*

HUNT FOR THE FEARSOME ANCIENT WYRM!

Attending: Salidin, Kal Shadowhand, Vince Valentine, Flina Trix, Erik Arkay, Gideon, Dalamar, Captain Hoagie.

I got the men to meet in front of the dungeon Destard for a long fight against the fearsome worm..  Now.. not ever seeing a worm in the past I will admit that I was a bit skeptical as to it's power.. But the men assured me that this was no ordinary Wyrm.. this was a giant Wyrm with huge razor blades all over it's body! And Giant Teeth that could shred the entire Barracks in seconds!

Being a future Grenadier of course, I felt absolutely no fear.

 ]

Luckily the Dragon finally came out, and if it were not for the presence of Vince Valentine and Erik Arkay I don't really know what could have happened.  We used the famed "Arkay" maneuver to defeat the Dragon, healing our archers as they fired volley upon volley of arrows towards the beast.

After a long and drawn out fight, the Ancient Wyrm was no longer really that Ancient at all, but dead as a doornail.  I proceeded to dance around the body of the nasty beast, seeing the blood leave it's lifeless corpse.

Arr, twas a grand trip. *Squints slightly* Your pictures are a little hard to make out though, how about recolouring them?

(OOC Note:  The hunt to the Wyrm replaces the hunt to the hunt to the Bone Dragon, due to a bug making the Bone Dragon unreachable. Also Conan, don't forget you'll have to put the links to your pics inbetween the IMG brackets to ensure they're displayed properly Smiley :OOC)

  Grenadier Task 3 "Final Task"

Attending: Kal Shadowhand, Demarian Tel'Var, Kieran, Hoagie, Flina Trix

I was instructed to teach other people about the workings of different explosives.  I started off with a very simple Poison/Gunpowder bomb with the ability to blow many others away, and poison them severely.  Now for those of ye that don't know what gunpowder is... it's a flammable powder that can really cause one heck of an explosion.

It seemed that Junior Trix was very bored, and at one point even thought she could bash open a bomb with a mace, completely forgetting the little piece of timber set afire that surely would have blown our whole little squad up.  I taught the guardsman how to see and jump over tripwires, and basically how to notice when something wasn't or didn't seem right.

Then I showed on Kal Shadowhand the many kill zones, the Throat, the Heart, and of course the head, this was one thing all the guardsman agreed on, except for Captain Hoagie, who stated that the groin was also..a kill zone.  Moving on I showed the soldiers how to crawl past a bomb without disturbing it, and to be wary of bombs.

It was not until I brought out my famous "Ninchime" that everyone become completely in awe.  This strange mine-type weapon had nearly killed Kal Shadowhand, practically decapitating anyone who stepped on it with thousands of little tiny steel ninja-stars.

The training finally ended and I told everyone I was proud of them.. now I had only to wait for my pledge to the great Baron Octiovus.. for my Grenadier arms.
