As a grenadier, our duties are amoung the most vital of all the squads in the army. To ensure the Barons safety at all costs, as well as maintaining the famed Covian swagger....

This is a list of essential grenadier duties, which can hopefully be carried out/integrated into trainings whenever possible. It is by no means a full list, and it will be added to as and when new/fresh ideas pop up. So, as Grenadiers/Potential grenadiers, what would YOU like to see on this list? Please keep in mind that a ten page+ list would be impractical, so it'll all be streamlined to make it easily accessable.

General Duties

Ensuring That A Building Is Clear

Whenever the Baron has a trip planned, or it is known that he'll be heading somewhere, it is vital that all assassination attempts are dealt with before he arrives. Therefore, all buildings (Within reason) should be checked and cleared before his arrival. This is done by a sweep of the building, complete with emotes for those tricky spots (I.E. *Pulls the sheets from the bed and looks underneath*)
Any suspicious characters should be questioned and moved along if nessecary.

Escorting The Baron

Whilst the Baron rarely ventures into areas of danger, it is vital that we are prepared when he does! Therefore, trainings that consist escorting a 'fake baron' should be held regularly. The baron (or his substitute) should be covered at all times, with at least one Grenadier either side of him. Grenadiers must stay in close proximity of the Baron at all times (Within healing range) unless directly ordered by him.

Diplomatic Missions

Sometimes Grenadiers shall be called upon to safeguard the delivery of documents or items of great value to far away places. These missions require diplomacy, people skills and a keen eye to spot potential hijackers. Often these missions are of great importance, as they are ordered by the Baron himself, so must be followed to the letter! Again, these skills can be honed in regular training sessions.

General Grenadier Conduct

As a Grenadier, you hold a certain responsibility as an example to the other guardsmen. No extreme unlawful behaviour should be conducted by a Grenadier
(For instance a Grenadier would never be caught smuggling, but if someone disrespects the Baron in some way, it would be acceptable for a Grenadier to ruffle their collar and give them a 'friendly' warning (Purely RP, unless agreed with both parties that PvP is going to happen) Grenadiers tend to be avatar fearing men/women, and respect the church almost as much as the Baron (Of course this subject to how you RP you character, but a Grenadier would never be openly 'against' the church)
When in the presence of the Baron, a Halberd should be equipped, and the Baron guarded on both sides.

That's a few ideas noted so far from various Grenadiers/potential grenadiers.
If you agree/disagree with anything there, or have anything you think should be added, don't be shy!

A few more Grenadier duties lads 'n' lasses!

Patrol Rota
Organising or actually leading yourself a series of regular patrols of the Covian Household & Shire.

Security Reports
Checking Household buildings etc.

Specialised Bodyguard Course
Bodyguard tactics - Staying within healing distance, form, x-heal etc. Sweeping buildings before allowing the Baron to enter etc.

Interrogation
Drag in some unsuspecting guardsman/civilian for "questioning". If we get word that anyone has been bad mouthing the Baron etc. we give them a damn good kicking. The Grenadiers are currently charged with internal affairs leave the interrogation of external enemies to the Scouts unless ordered otherwise.

Mountain/Wilderness/Hardening Training
Harsh physical training in mountains/ice/desert

Baronial Sentry
Men outside the office door and if enough - ranking Grenadiers behind the Baron at his desk.

Grenadier Recruitment
Grenadier banner drops - when we have some approved recruitment literature.

Grenadeir Stalls
Grenadier Stall/Grenadier Open Day in Cove town/Lecture Barracks Rooftop or HQ? Again approved recruitment literature pending.

Explosives Training
A must for all Grenadiers! Theory and practice all in the same session as we have done previously.

Some of these duties have been introduced in Grenadier training sessions in the past and a few are new - so look out for them in the future.

[ooc]Again if anyone has any questions or ideas - fire away[/ooc]
