What I love most about this whole thing is that they didn't get get another graphics artist and a whole new style of graphics to fuck things up just a bit more (the name Todd McFarlane comes to mind). Instead what they did is look at the original concept artwork (from 12 years ago - yes from when UO was still in production) and alpha graphics and build the new client and graphics accordingly.

For those who were around during the launch and announcements of UO in 1995-1997 alot of stuff should look really familiar.

In short : I think the new client pwns. I even dig the Everquest - yes WoW copied from them - concepts they added (like inventory/hotbar and such).

I especially like that they've got the character's armour/weapons in proportion to his body. If anyone has seen an orc from WoW, you'll see his/her biceps is as thick as his waist.
