Resources. they don't grow on trees you know!
Well....lumber does, but you see my point yes? Fresh ore and wood is needed regularly, so I'd requested assistance from our fine Guardsmen to ensure our safety as we travelled to Ilshnear. Our target was a series of caves located north of the downright nasty town of Umbra. So off we went....
A fine escortIt was a good job we had a good number of guardsmen escorting us, as the road was harsh and dangerous that eve. Danger lurked in many different forms...
The old silent footstep...We made good time, and were soon standing before the Minoc moongate.
We proceeded through after a quick headcount to make sure we hadn't lost anyone.
Amon, Qom and myself were having a little trouble keeping up as we had our horses to keep under control, but the guardsmen aided us no end with this.
After a long walk along the northern road out of umbra, we had arrived at the caves. The road there was no picnic either, with brigands and strange clothed men on unspeakable steeds at almost every turn!
Once we had set up our camp just inside the cave entrance, we began our work. Mister Arkay very kindy agreed to escort Qom to the forests a short way out to gather lumber, whilst Mister Jarl and myself began mining....
Sunset manages to cover her speech with her browser...againThe ores in the cave were fine and dandy, but nothing special, so we proceeded deeper still. With Sergeant Hoagie ordering the men to scout ahead, we crossed a mystical bridge, that appeared to drop into the heavens themselves!
A looong way downSafely across, we mined some more, and Amon and i enjoyed much luck here! Gold, that's right, Golden gold! Stowing it safely along with the other ore that we'd gathered, we mined until we could mine no more!
After a fair while, Qom and Mister Arkay returned, with a packhorse bursting at the seams with fine woods! They'd also apparently had a deep conversation about a critter known as a....woodchuck?
A what now? he chucks wood you say??Deciding that that was enough work for one day, we packed up our hard earned goodies and made our way back to Cove. It had been a long day, but we certainly had a successful trip. Indeed, i hope the baronship shall be richer because of it.
Oh, and here's a list of guardsmen attending, my thanks to every last one of you, especially Sergeant Hoagie for leading the men.
