The report is written in a much shakier handwriting, far different from the normally composed and elegant handwriting of Ileana*Civilians and Guardsmen alike gathered for the first regular mass that had been held in some time. Led by Father Odenetheus with the support of Templar Gottfried, turnout was initially low until stragglers began to move into the Church. Beginning the mass, Father Odenetheus announced that Mister Hoagie had been punished for his transgressions as had some recruits who had thought it wise to deny the orders of the Church.
Soon, the Father chose some to confess their sins, despite no initial volunteers. First, Mister Valentine was called who confessed to harming an innocent Covian and having seen invisible naked people, a comment which drew much amusement from the congregation and the wrath of the clergy in the form of a punishment; Mister Valentine must teach recruits of the Avatarian faith all of next week.
Similar confessions followed from Hoagie who admitted to feeding a Covian Cap to a horse, but shortly after Mister Arkay entered the Church. Father Odenetheus called him to confess to having attacked the Father with fire at a prior occassion. Moving outside, Templar Gottfried administed the punishment of 25 lashes despite the protestations of Miss Arkay.
Upon returning to the Church a single confession was made by myself about forgetting who the companions of the Avatar were. On requesting more information the Father informed the congregation that he was not a teacher and that I must learn the companions myself despite disbelief among the whispers and mutters of the congregation concerning his knowledge on the topic.
With that last confession, tithes were taken and Father Odenetheus concluded the mass for the week.
