WATCHMAN TRIALS: DELFERIUM

Greetings Watchman,

Still alive!? Avatar must love ye? Ye are but a few small steps from earning the famed Covian Cap and the respect and responsibilities it brings.

Here are your trials...

Task One - Bolstering The Ranks



More recruits is what we need! With you on your way to earning the Covian Cap and losses from the war. What are you waiting here for Watchman!? Grab some banners and get out there!

Conditions:

*You will place banners at the following locations (20 in total):

Moongates.

Britain, Jhelom, Luna, Maginica, Minoc, Moonglow, Haven, Nujelm, Skara Brae, Trinsic & Yew (11).

Ilshenar Shrines/Moongates.

Chaos, Compassion, Honesty, Honour, Humility, Justice, Sacrifice, Spirituality & Valour (9).

*Post a full report with drawings in this thread.
*This task may be carried out in stages. You don't have to do it all at once. Be sure to not to miss any though!


Task Two - Securing the Altmere.



The Altmere Outpost is now the limit of Cove's western most border... or the time being at least.

You are to construct and man a sentry post there and challenge anyone bearing arms on the road. The Minoc Accord grants safe passage to anyone on the roads of our lands but if anyone seeks to pass through your position make sure they are unarmed and not a threat to Covian security.

Conditions:

*Construct and man a sentry post at the Altmere Outpost for no less than 30 minutes.
*At least 3 other Covians must join you on this task. Keep them entertained however you see fit.
*Challenge any travellers that may pass by and check any caravans for armaments.
*Post a full report with drawings in this thread.


Task Three - A Leader Of Men.



As a Junior Guardsmen you will be expected to pass on what you have learned to the lower ranks and of course offer leadership too.

Lead a hunting expedition into the lands of Ilshenar to demonstrate what you have learned and your leadership abilities.

Conditions:

*At least 4 other Covians must join you on this mission.
*Collect 20,000 coins for the coffers.
*Post a full report with drawings in this thread.

I have completed the task Captain. I placed banners at the moongates of your requested locations with the exception of Nu'jelm. I apologize Sir but there is no gate there. To make up for this I placed banners at all the cities and towns to match their moongates.

Task One - Securing Altmere[COMPLETE]

When: 10/10/08, 8pm-9pm GMT

Location: Altmere

Having just barely met the required amount of guardsmen for my sentry I informed my men what we were to do. After explaining my task we set out to Altmere where we'd meet our box-maker and begin work on my masterpiece of Covian perfection. I had previously build a floor-plan to mark where the crate and hides would be placed. It worked out well. Kas gathered hides, Tiberius and Take built boxes and the recruit and I built the grand ol' sentry.






Top Covian theorists believe the horse was stricken by lightning!

We had a rough start when a roaming brigand stabbed up our pack horse. After mourning it's loss we got back to work and with any luck we did just fine without it! Smelly horses...Within a short time the structure was standing and we began to clean up the raw materials and furnish the inside. Kas and the recruit having no taste, I had to step in and set up some tables. Soon the place looked great and we took our positions and started the timer.


There were several marauding hordes of beasts straight from the abyss which attempted to flaw us! There were rats and sheep, giant flying squid and a dragon! They were all obliterated by the terrible singing though. Soon minutes turned to more minutes and we had met the required time limit. I decided to stay a little longer but Kas and Take were plotting against me. They soon unleashed their horrible powers of song and forced me to a breaking point where I just gave in. We packed it up.

After preventing several devastating hordes of beast from reaching Cove, we retrieved a sum of 2789 gold coins and made Cove safe for a day. The sentry was manned for forty minutes.(Not including the time it took to build it)

I will begin locating a destination for my hunt Sir.

Task One - A Leader of Men[COMPLETE]

When: 18/10/08, 7:00pm GMT

Location: Gargoyle Mining Camp, Ilshenar

Commanding Officer: Delferium, Watchman
Guardsmen in Attendance:
Hoagie, Sergeant
Eve, Senior Grenadier
Kas Valentine, Regular Guardsmen
Tyrael Styx, Junior Grenadier(Had to dismiss early)
Celuvian Haap, Watchman(Joined later)


Kas and Hoagie were the first to show up at the barracks, but we established two men were nay enough! Kas, with his "great idea", went and grabbed some prostitutes "classy women" and dressed 'em up like fighters. I told 'im it wasn't good enough and we'd wait 'till more showed up! Eventually Eve and Tyrael showed up and things got going!





Kas happily provided us a gate to our destination and we went through to Ilshenar. I gave my men(And Eve) orders to stay sharp and not get themselves killed. After that we headed along a previously determined path to the gargoyle mining camp I'd heard so much about! We set out to the West, fighting off savages and golden bears which plotted to kill the Baron! With strict orders and our skilled fighters we made a successful stop at a little tribal camp where we slaughtered liberated the spirits of mis-understood savages. After leaving a trail of corpses, we neared the volcanic rock-face being mined for the forces of evil!



It got extremely hot the closer we got to the volcano and the encampment shadowed by it. We began our assault on the gargoyle mining site. The supply of metal ore there, had we nay destroyed it, would've gone to building blades and armor for the undead hordes which plagued Brittania. After withstanding a strong force of gargoyles and magical beings we used Kas' spells and the Grenadier's bombs to destroy the forges, anvil, tents and ore containers in the area. The Guardian menace won't have arnaments fer months now!






After all that destruction and "Cove'N" we still came up short on our gold count! We headed around the area and even killed some time in the desert. Nearing the 20,000 mark, we went for a final assault on the gargoyle camp as they attempted to re-group. The bodies were so numerous some of out troops got trapped under them! Once we got what we wanted we moved back to Cove.

After returning to Cove we ended up with a total of 20,001 coins for the coffers. The rest was handed amongst the Covian guardsmen(And woman! And Kas!) who helped to make my hunt a success.

I hope my efforts suffice Captain! I shall be at the next parade Sir!

We were all impressed by the leadership of Buttons and look forward to seeing him in his well deserved Junior cap.

However.....

The fact that he has chosen not to give credit to the efforts of Gloria and Elise is sickening. They gave their lives to help with his promotion.

And what do they get?

Absolutely nothing.

So at this time I would like to recommend Buttons for the opposite of promotion.

The title of "Poofy Beardface" should be sufficient to bring home the small mindedness of his transgressions.
