My only BoC character is the ale-luvin carpenter, Qom Yggdrasill Riyadh. I do have other character, but he is rather under-developed (c'mon, I'm playing UO for 7 months now...) at the moment, and I'm not sure if he is going to be guilded, but his presence won't be left unnoticed for Covians... Right now, I'm going to play only Qom, because I very enjoy seeing the civilian part of BoC raise, and raise, and raise....

I only have problems with one sort of characters. Horny 14 year olds who create "Half-succubus, half-drow sex fiend women." Even Veldrin has more of an idea about how women act than they do! Cheesy

Well thats wierd man, seeing how she isn't a woman irl Shocked

I've had one or two BoC alts in the past, but they've never flourished.

What about that newly created character that got murdered outside of the tavern. Cheesy

I've only had one alt, Yrmis Gryfh Yir. He's a bandit, gang-member of THE HATS. Legendary gang. Rex Richter and Elminister were my fellow gang-members.

I've never bothered much with alts. Grief is already sweet enough.

Well, by the sounds of what you're telling me, you are pretty hot yourself and stand a good chance of getting her I reckon. (Don't tell anyone I told you you're hot, or you die a grizzly death).

My 'main' is Garak Nightchill, my guardsman char.  He's developed differently than I first intended, at one point I intended to play him as being a bit insane, but that can be difficult to pull off and still 'get stuff done' at the same time.  He's still a bit eccentricand erratic but the nature of the job steadies him.

Roland Dagorian.  He was my first rp char on Europa and the first one I had in BoC.  He was originally a Guardsman though was always pious and believed in the Church.  He eventually ended up as a Templi Squire in the Church.  He's more of a 'one-dimensional' char though I do try to keep him fleshed out.  As a Squire I kept him fairly naive and not entirely cold.  He'll become more cold-hearted as he gets older.

Reynard Destain.  My other churchie, Cove's "beloved" Bishop.  In part he was created to fill the role of Religious Advisor for the court as Bishop.  He's quite old and wicked.  At times he can be difficult to play, as I don't want him to just turn out an older version of Roland.  He's scheming and devious.

Derfel Dagorian.  My civvie char.  Not played him as much as I want to.

Kalam Ravenscar.  My VTC char, the only guilded char not in BoC.  He's a bartender at Swaggers.  As an assassin-type, he's pretty amoral.  In some ways he's my most developed char, partly since I played him on Lake Superior (albeit under an alias), but mainly since he's not really got a specific role.  Ther "dryer" side of my personality is in him.  He's basically my 2-in-the-morning chill-out when I'm too tired to actually do stuff in game, or am browsing the net/typing stuff up at the same time.

hah! Good point there! *thumbs up* I've waited until someone will notice that Smiley
It's taken from "The Hyperion Cantos", of which came all names of my UO chars.
The Hyperion Cantos form a tetralogy of science fiction novels by Dan Simmons. The books are:
    * Hyperion (1989)
    * The Fall of Hyperion (1990)
    * Endymion (1996)
    * The Rise of Endymion (1997)
(Check Wikipedia - provides loads of great infos on this, but beware of spoilers)
Overall it's a load of great reading.

Returning to Qom - he's a lumberjack and a carpenter afterall, so "Yggdrasill" suits him quite well Smiley

Yggdrasil (according to Norse Lore) is the World Tree although it actually links and contains the different worlds of the Norse lore..

Hrothgar - I won't say everyone knows Hrothgar like some of the stuck up foo's here *Eyes Jen and Khae* Wink . But if you've been in BoC somewhere between the founding and the die of his supposed death he has most likely made some sort of impact on you. He was known as a cruel disciplinary officer and a hardhass all the way to some and also a big snuggle bear to others, mainly Mela. Also the only Sosarian human ever to reach the age of 346.  In short he was the a Captain of the army, founder of the first Covian division "The Blades" and also founder of the Baron's Own Grenadiers.  I've never ever enjoyed playing a character like i did with Hrothgar, he was a tough old bastard that i'll always love to play.

BoC Characters

Raziel Von Richter - The Baron's son and self-proclaimed womanizer of Cove and beyond. Raziel has been quite a conflict for me as i wanted him to be the serious honorable type good guy but i always ended up doing silly things with him like announcing that he sleeps in the nude and urinating on the church etc. Its all good fun but it does go away from the initial concept behind him.

Lucien Mekhet - The mysterious priest, Lucien is a scholar and a man of faith to most but underneath he carries a dark secret. He is usually seen lurking around Cove in night time and rarely leaves the confines of the church. A fairly new character but has a developed background and personality behind him and i look forward to putting him on the scene in the future.

non-BoC

Silas - The witty rogue, Silas is a treacherous yet a humorous individual. He seperates work completely from his personal life for example he might have robbed you one day but the next day he'll walk upto you and ask you for a light for his weed pipe as if nothing ever happened between you two.

Mehmed Alihm - The Sultan of Nujel'm, still being developed fairly much as i don't play him alot i rather play Hrothgar as he is these days the General of Nujel'm. Mehmed like to stay inside the walls of his palace surrounded by guards rather then walk the streets and meet his people.

Thats pretty much it Tongue

During my time in BoC I mostly played Kazuo Shinrai. With no pvp abilities whatsoever that character was around for pure roleplay only. Whenever I felt a need to bash I logged on Kasei and that used to be it really. I am strongly opposed to alts and feel that if people get the urge to devellop a new character they should stick with it and put their current main in the background as much as possible. Now, while develloping Ro'tzac, Kazuo has been presumed killed and without Kazuo there is not much use for Kasei to be around. But then perhaps Kasei will be found elsewhere under a diffent guise (but for the same purpose, rp-pvp only).

On a side note, one of the most difficult characters to play are shapeshifters and tradition-bound characters.
Moraine DiGoraz, my thief, changes his name and appearance often and therefor does not quite build a reputation. It does give me the opportunity to roleplay him as I see fit every time I log him on though, which is a nice change. The problem I had with Kazuo was his character and personality. Being the head of a criminal organization in addition to being a traditional Japanese samurai (lifestyle, not warrior), his roleplay ability was rather limited. Limited in the ways of goofing off or doing something no one would ever expect that is. It is also one of the reasons I got bored with the character and killing him off (or having him presumed killed) is still many times better than changing a character's personality overnight!

Right, it's late, need sleep.
Best quit now because if it's up to me I could write at least another 5 pages worth of essay on this subject.
