http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxfdnH0FrWQ&mode=user&search=

The video of the new Ultima Online Kingdom Reborn is now up on youtube, it's in several parts so to watch it fully you'll need to click "more from this user" and go from there. I have to admit I was rather skeptical about this at first, but it does look very exciting from the video.

I've created a summary of some of the keypoints for people who don't really want to sit through this (it's over an hour, and features some pretty annoying accents and imbecilic questions):

- There will be no dwarves.
- The guild system will remain the same.
- A hotkey system will be introduced and as a whole the interface will be more streamlined; the backpack will become a list and there won't be buttons cluttering up your screen.
- There's going to be a lot of updated graphics which look quite cool, the paperdoll and the in game avatar are revamped, all tiles and monsters etc. Additionally there's some interesting new graphical elements like running water and so on.
- There'll be some new items introduced with this expansion.

One of many things I like is that animals and beasts will be in proportional size comparing to player...

Gargoyles are according to UO lore, actually quite correct.

What are your REALISTIC hopes for UO: KR then? Mine are, as follows:
The factions are brought back!
Brings in new players!
The new skills or abilities (whatever) are balanced...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *wipes a tear from his eye* hihhihi... Scratch the last one!

I like the graphics very much, ingame map that will show your guildmates, improved hotkeys...

This makes sense to me.
After all, I pay each month for the game, why should I pay for uoassist or uomap additionally to have such (helpful) features...?

And I hope to see more things to craft - for tailors and carps, not the blacksmith only...

More plant resources!

Heh, kidding, I'm not that gay.

Well, KR pwns current neonesque 2D client...
so just that is enough for me Smiley
Hopefully UO will get a semi-realistic medieval look again!
Reckon it would encourage roleplay as well as the setting would be different.

... You don't need to pay for UO Automap, if that's what you meant. And UOassist is worth the 10$

Yes, of course, UOAM is free, there was a missing "have" in front of 'uomap'...

But the point was that you need additional software to use some functions, which as life shown, are much needed ingame.

BTW Khae, you have a contract of cooperation with Veldrin on pointing all possible mistakes? Wink

I guess the gargoyle creatures could double for like, Demons.  But how could we incorporate them into BoC?
