We set out to find grand ingredients for the first task of Medical Corps.
Setting out towards the dungeon Ice, 6 Guardsmen attended,
We found one of the ingredients i had in mind, as the first encounter we had.
Four vials of Ooze were recovered from the various beasts that we found.
A pitcher of immense smelling Ogre lord Sweat was recovered, due to the fact they were Icicles when i picked them!
A frozen spider carcass was recovered, didn't bleed or anything as it was... frozen...
Also the skin of a large frozen snake were recovered, dunno what to use it for yet!
We also came over a rather diffrent Elemental, it was made of solid ice, so i cut a chunk off from it and added it to the ingredients.
I also educated the Guardsmen in why we gathered the ingredients.
That was a total of Five ingredients, now only thing left was to use my mortar magic!
After hours of mixing and matching i found three possible combinations, one weak, but did the job on smaller wounds. And two of them, immense toxic, but still, they did the job.
First applicant proved difficult to create, mixing the odd frozen rock from the elemental with some Ogre sweat, thickening it with the skin from the snake.
Form: Salve
Effects: A coolant salve, applied directly to the skin where the wound resides.
Side effects: May cause an itch and nausea if inhaled.
Estimated amount needed: Not much was needed to get the desired effect of chill to the wound, one vial can easily grant dozens of wounds medical care.
Second applicant proved very easy to mixture, it contains the toxic intestine waters of the spider, mixed with the ooze.
Form: Liquid
Effects: When brought on a bandage, the bandage becomes frosty and really cold.
Side effects: Contains spider poison, which causes it to be deadly when eaten.
Estimated amount needed: Much like water it only needs to be damped on a bandage, and the bandage in its turn can dampen many more, a very cheap and reliable medicine, but alas very toxic.
Third and last applicant proved to be the most difficult yet, containing the toxins of the spider, the ooze and the elementals frosty rock.
Form: A thick salve.
Effects: It brings a chilly effect through the whole body when applied to the wound, and numbs it. The blood under the wound may freeze so be careful with it.
Side effects: It is highly corroding, only small amounts of it may be used under a very limited time before washed off.
Estimated amount needed: Very very little is needed on each wound, To be fair, almost less than one drop is needed. Therefore its a cheap, but very a dangerous medical instrument.
Combining all five of the ingredients gives a thick fluid which is not good for anything, more than making the local inn hostess throw up. Added mandrake to it, gives a cold, soothing effect to the imbiber, and does not pose a permanent threat to ones health.
I let the local healers test it on various patients with wounds caused by burns, and they praised me for my excellent work with the creation of my salves and ointments.
