Now its fine with 720 skillcap, im not saying increase that so we can make more uber chars. But there are skills out there that aint got much to do with fighting. Say Tracking, or Forensic Evaluation. Id like those kind of skills to have their own Skillcap...like 220 or 240. So that we have a skillcap of 720 for major skills and a skillcap of 240 for minor skills. That way we can have those skills on our characters without fekking up our template. This makes for more interresting characters.

Erm, kinda like you'd cut out a fragment of a bigger article and paste it into the post.

I know what you're talking about, but in context of UO mechanics it doesn't make sense at all.

I think he's putting this idea forward more to EA than to us. I don't see how we can give our members extra skill points...

Basically like primary skills and secondary skills in WoW, well sort of. In Warcraft each player can only choose two "profession" skills, but everyone can have the secondary skills (first aid, fishing and cooking) without using up the two slots assigned to your primary skills.

So basically we could have a 7xGM fighter template who would also be adept at tasting your food for poison and tracking the footsteps of bandits (and other assorted secondary activities). I like the idea but I think it damages the delicate balance we have at the moment. Not that I've played my thief for years but if I was facing a player who had a perfect combat template as well as the ability to track and detect me I'd be distinctly gutted.

Plus s'another step towards making UO a WoW clone which it is already well on the way to becoming. Like I say I like the idea, not knocking your wise ways Celuvian, I just don't think it would work out well for us.

(PS; Besides you have enough skills on soulstones as it is young man ! Grin)

I've also wanted something like that, but I don't think it would work. You don't need to have a perfect PvP template to be decent at PvP. GO FISHING!!!

It's a good idea, but it wouldn't work unless the secondary skills were more basic than tracking, detect hidden etc. Maybe fishing, cooking, Taste ID and such.
