Gathering Feathers for the Army

Lead By:
Regular Highlander, Kurt Alimar

Attended:
Watchman, Seamus

We went to Covetous to gather one-thousand feathers, but we ended up with only two-hundred.  It is still a good amount but not enough for an entire army.  At least it will supply our archers a bit.  Too many adventurers were about stealing our kills.

Recruit Cadre/Excess Training

Lead By:
Regular Highlander, Kurt Alimar

Attended:
Guardsman Recruit, Dermott Eason
Guardsman Recruit, Max O'Munpain

Summary:
A very well performed recruit cadre I must say the recruits worked together, and very hard individually.  I surprized them with ten laps around the ring at the very beginning.  I spoke pushed them made them feel they had to prove me wrong with all their being.  Then I gave them an inventory pack check, which they had good amount of.  Then I gave them a healing exercise, and then a test of their bonds which they passed exceptionally.  I gave them the task too knock me, and never said anything about healing your partner.  They choose their partner to keep up rather then keep the knock to their selves.  Knowing that if you stick together you can defeat a superior warrior.  Afterwards I recpped on what they learned, they learned alot I must say.

Hunt To Despise

Lead By:
Regular Highlander, Kurt Alimar

Attended:
Guardsman Recruit, Max O'Munpain
Guardsman Recruit, Dermott Eason

Took the recruits out for a test of their mettle, and we took down alot of denizens of Despise.  The one major victory was that of the Recruits killing the Ogre Lord with little help from me.  They did a fine Job at despise, and worked very hard.

*Covians kill and burn Ogre Lord*

I'd suggest the roof have:

A: A Training Ring exclusively for Highlanders.
B: A Statue of their God overlooking the training ring.
C: Some Low sides for archers and such to defend Cove.
D: A look out post, or watchtower with a lookout NPC ready to ring the bell.

Aye... I agree with Delcarakder.  This is animal cruelty, and can get ye in trouble.  Only if the dogs aren't fighting to the death would it be alright.

This turned into something else, none of you answered my second question.  What is our position in the war?  That's all I want too know right now.
223  OOC Boards / OOC Board / Re: Citizen's Millitia on: January 27, 2006, 02:24:33 am
What should happen is a call to arms everytime the Main army needs extra support.  The town bells will ring and make the citizens fight.

Think of it this way back in these times the leaders didn't give a crap if you wanted to fight or not.  You'd go into the militia or face being executed.

By the way there should be no set weaponry.  A butcher is proficient with a knife, a lumberjack with a hatchet, a farmer with a pitchfork, and a miner with a pickaxe.  Maybe even a hunter as an archer your weapon skill should relate to your profession.

Pretty much your character holds at least one weapon skill to fight with, and whatever you want after that.  You're bound to have some proficiency in some weapon if you've used it long enough.

Just don't make it into some branch make it into something like an event just for citizens.  Witch-hunts, Mining expeditions, being invaded, helping in assaults, or just plain old hunting.

So I'd say this would be a great idea just not as a new branch, just as a fun thing only civvies can do.
224  OOC Boards / OOC Board / Question about the War on: January 23, 2006, 09:26:24 pm
I'm just wondering why guard can attack Cove directly but we can't attack Yew.  Do they have a direct passage to attack Cove?  It's just last time I checked we beat them close to Yew then they beat us and now all of the sudden they're attacking us directly?

It's not a complaint I just want to know what's going on with the war right now.

Training Session

Lead By:
Regular Guardsman, Kurt Alimar

Attended:
Regular Highlander, Delcarakdur
Junior Scout, Cor'Ari'Ta
Watchman, Jack Sinister

At first I asked them to display there bandages, light source, bedrolls, and Parade Arms.  Jack didn't have his bedroll and was a little short on bandages.  So I made each of them run six laps with armor on.

*Covians run laps*

After that I had them do some healing exercises, and the first was to hard for the Watchman to heal his partner.  The second exercise was succesful everyone healed each other.

*Failed Healing*

*Successful Healing*

Then we closed it all off with a last man standing.  The first one the watchman had been attacked by two of the others at the beginning.  Then at the end  Delcarakdur won because of his intimidating look to Cor.  The second time I won at the end, and after that I ordered everyone dismissed.

*Succesful Training Session*
