Patrol Log: 04/29/08

Location: Covian Graveyard/Cove

We set out directly East of the Covian Barracks and headed to the graveyard. We arrived hastily only being stop by a lone troll trying to get a kill out of one of us but it didn't last long. *chuckles* We arrived at the graveyard and were greeted by one of those disgusting liches! Before I could get near it, It was dead and on the ground thanks to our fellow Covians on the patrol. We quickly cleared the entire graveyard out ending our graveyard duty. We then began marching to Cove. As we opened the silver gates we stepped proudly into our home and headed to the lighthouse. We reached the roof, and saw a Grey wolf so it was killed as to not harm any wandering civilians. We promptly cleared the Lighthouse and met outside lining up by Takeamada, thus ending the patrol a success.

Patrol Log 05/02/08

Location:  From Minoc Moongate to The Guard Outpost at Altmere.

Report:

After conducting a banner check in Britannia, Sgt Hoagie thought it would be a good use of time to conduct a quick patrol from the Moongate at Minoc to the Outpost at Altmere.  We know that more Ettin, Trolls, and Ogres have been showing up in Cove.  The main route they could be using is from the north.

While on our patrol, we ran into the normal mongbat, sewer rat, and skeletons.  But we also ran into 7 Ogres, an Ettin, and a Troll, all of which where along the main road north towards Altmere.  The three of us made quick work of all of them, you got to love teamwork.  After reaching Altmere, we were dismissed by Sgt Hoagie and went to check out the new garrison up north.

I was walking outside looking for a quiet peaceful day to just relax a bit and train up on my swordsmanship when all of a sudden, I saw an orc! Yeah that's right, an orc right in the middle of Covian land! I quickly questioned him asking why he was there, He said he was a scout. I was trying to get him out of our lands since he did have a crossbow in hand when I got the order to kill him. I took one step and POOF! He was gone! He vanished right before my eyes. So of course, I checked the place out first heading off to the orc fort. The one thing I noticed was a lone boat anchored right by the passage into orc infested land. I was extremely suspicious and assumed the two events were linked somehow. Well I checked the fort and Cove but no sign of orcs. He was gone...

Patrol log: 11/05/2008
Location: Barracks-Graveyard-Cove City
Commanding Officer: Takaemada

After we reported for the promotion and parade ceremony, commanding officer at that time Sergeant Hoagie, checked our kits and lined us up.
Sergeant Hoagie spoke as a true leader of men when he told us that today there where no promotions to be given, but he encouraged those that are reaching to climb the ladder of ranks, to work hard and severe all that should be done to be promoted!
After that he dismissed us and told us to report at the entrance of the Barracks.

At reporting at the Barracks Watchmen Takeamada took command and marched us to the graveyard, where he lead us on a quick cleansing of the sacred ground of the ancestors of our beloved city.
And quick it was! Within no time we where all lined up and given the order to report at the gates of Cove for a training by Watchmen Takeamada.

Some of our group where sent of for other duties while myself ( Guardsmen Recruit Noxarian ), Watchmen Takeamada, Sergeant Sanderson and Watchmen Justice Forum gathered at the gate.
Upon our arrival and at the very beginning of the training we were alarmed of an attack on Cove from within the walls!
We entered the city quickly only to realise that it was no ordinary attack but rather a bloodshed.
Demons, Evil Warriors and other foul creatures where roaming around bashing and slashing our townfolk and their homes....
We tried to save as many as we could, being tossed around, knocked down and cut open ourselves by the overwhelming strength and numbers of our enemy. The Sergeant at some point made the call to retreat, where all we could do was look back over our shoulders only to see our kin and city being torn apart...
The Selrgeant gave us an order not to go back, for our numbers where far less then the enemies and it would only result in our own useless death!
We retreated only to hear the last of the battle from within the city walls carried by the wind.

In this moment we can only but realise that times have changed and we can only stand strong as we are!
To protect! To serve! To die! For the Glory and Freedom of Cove and the men and women that stand next to you to fight with you to defend that!!!

• The bed sheet at the outpost needs to be changed.
• Security for the small healing station at the crossroads is very poor. we killed a gargoyle lurking in the storage tower.

 Well we started off on teh west coasta o' Cove, an' traveled North teh Llama point. We then stood a' teh ear o' Llama Point an' looked ou' inteh teh water. We nay saw a t'ing bu' one o' t'em damn 'arpie birds. So Ah slayed i' an' then we continued east on teh coast. We ran inteh a couple o' Serpent's and wa'er elementals. Slayed easileh by the arrow and blades o' Covian power! Bu'who would've though' anehthin' less eh? So we finalleh reached far enough and decided teh return back teh the barracks to fin' some orc there attackin' our men, bein' weak from our long walk we were defeated. Nay realleh we jus' didn' wanna fight. *shifty eyes* So we returned to teh barracks from defendin' Cove from them friskey pirates. Another day saved by Darek Milako.

After the recent invasion of yet more undead and creatures of the abyss I led those who attended the promotions parade on a patrol into town.

No sign of the invaders and all was well amongst the peasantry. Another Covian victory!

After sightings of undead, wolves, brigands and worse around Cove the sarge led us into town to make sure all was well.

The busy docks and banking district were safe but we heard strange noises as we approached the Covian fields.

We stumbled across brigands and undead at the lighthouse but soon beat them down with Estelle being very brave with her bow, though we did have some bumps and bruises ourselves.

This eve while waiting for our allies from Vesper we were attacked by disciples of the Guardian. Dark elementals, crazed horses, brigands and liches were all put to the sword by this hardy bunch of veteran guardsmen.

Patrolling the Orc Fort

To check that the Orc Fort had not also been infested with the vermin and beasts enveloping Cove, the five of us set out there for a patrol.

Our findings were nothing of new. The orc fort was only infested by the usual disgusting orcs. As a result, we just slayed whatever we could see and hacked through them for a while. We returned to Cove promtly to set out to our other duties of the day. A couple of thousand coins were collected, but there was no time to count before we set out on our next journey.

Patrolling to the Graveyard

The idea was to go in fast, so fast it would catch the undead by surprise and kill all we could find. The plan worked well, we struck hard and fast, taking down 2 liches among scores of undead that came to defend the graveyard. After sufficiently destroying all that came we made a quick return to the barracks, having fufilled the task we set out to achieve.

Patrolling to Altmere

After the market I decided it would be a good idea to check Altmere, we were aware that Yew could be planning some sort of assault after battles in Minoc the night before. We set off through the trees, emerging at the road only to find some agressive beasts that we had to swiftly take down. We then got to Altmere to find a troll inside the barracks causing chaos. We both quickly attacked and took care of the foul beast. We then dragged the body outside and with a potion that Delferium found early, blew the body up as a warning to any other beasts who dare wander into our outpost.

Noticing the place seemed quiet we headed back to the barracks, everything seemingly fine so I dismissed the Watchman and headed to sleep.

Sergeant Sanderson's Patrol Duty - Graveyard.

Sergeant Sanderson decided to take us on a series of patrols. Our first destination was the Cove graveyard. We stormed it and took down all the undead wandering there with the minimum of fuss.



No less was expected from such an experienced group!

Sergeant Sanderson took us to the Orc Fort on part of a series of patrols. With a group of experienced guardsmen, the orcs had no chance, and we plunged right in. The big ones must have seen us coming over the walls and ran away, because they were nowhere to be seen! We made our way to the docks, where Raiden claimed them in the name of Cove though I'm not really sure why we would want them. We began a forced march out, cutting down orcs as we went!

Patrol of Covian Shire - 7:30pm GMT, Saturday 22/06/08
Scouting the town centre for reports of dark wisps

On patrolling around the town centre, I discovered two dark wisps running rogue.  Evading their attacks, I later reported them to Sergeant Hoagie, and suggested that it was the doing of a white haired witch who was causing grief outside the barracks the previous day, who was releasing nightmares around the area.
The Sergeant led us in to the town centre, but the wisps had gone.  However, we discovered the corpse of a dead nightmare, suggesting that she had been in the area again.  Keen eyes should be peeled to look out for the witch.
An ogre was discovered upon the stairs of the watch tower, north of the town centre, but was disposed of quickly.  Luckily, no damage had been affected to the building or it's interior.
