Raven and I found ourselves the only ones on duty in the afternoon a couple of days back, so we decided to carry out a couple of patrols in Cove around the borders to ensure everything was in order. We checked all buildings, the gates, Cove docks and the Watch Tower. All was fine.

Patrolling the Graveyard

Our next trip was to the graveyard, to make a sweep for anything in sight. We pulled down whatever was there and grabbed the gold. The gold was put towards the coffers, and we then made our way back to the barracks for dismissal.

Excuse the lack of paintings on this one... Nay had time to sit and scribble whilst bashin' things!

We were going to practise our fighting skills with the undeads in grave yard. Takeamada, came along with us to make sure we won't get ourselves killed.

24th August

I see a red door and I want it painted black. No colors anymore I want them to turn black. Uhh... *large drop of ink* After the sentry Junior Kobra had told us to do, Watchman Dah'han said that we have to check the houses of the Cove. He thinks there might be murderers or spies hiding inside the town. After we had checked few houses we found a abandoned camp from the woods.



Dah'han wanted to burn that place down so we burned it down. After we got to walls of Cove. Dah'han saw something movement by all and sent me to check it. I rushed there and SMASHED it, it was a pig. After this we quickly checked the houses on our way towards barracks. Our final thing was to check our beloved barracks thoroughly.

There is a house in New Orleans. They call the Rising Sun. Ehh... Patrol I ment... Sergeant Hoagie wanted Watchman Keres to lead us to the cemetery. Junior Grenadier Falconheart also joined us to the small exhibition to the restless ones. Due the large number of us, the undead must have feared us since there wasn’t many of them seen.



Officer Cadet ShadowHand came along at some point, to steal my play mates, I say! Watchman Keres got bored quickly and so we headed back to barracks to gather some gear before leaving to hunt two headed giants and ogres.

Patrol of the Altmere Swamps

And so it was, that I had orders to travel north of Cove to the swamps, to retrieve Shadwell's pegleg!  I know not as to the particulars of how his pegleg had become lodged in the swamp... perhaps it is better left unsaid.

I led the experienced guardsmen into the thick of it, hoping to reveal the pegleg's whereabouts.  We dislodged many wooden logs, believing them each time to be the missing prosthesis!  And we fought many of the creatures that dwelt there.  It was within the belly of one of the fowl stenching beasts that we discovered it.  Alas, having it examined back at Cove, the prosthesis was revealed to belong to somebody else!

Patrol Orc Fort

With the assistance of the recruit, we challenged three orc brutes and numerous others.  The challenges were easily a success.  The gold collected was divided between us.

By orders of Watchman Haap I went to the graveyards to increase my skill with a sword, and to keep the ghastly undead at bay. I collected a total of 2,000 coins for the Army.

The barracks was quiet....
The town was quiet.....
So what do Kas and Buttons do....?
They head out as Covian's on patrol !

We charged through the forest, directly to the graveyard and dealt with the relentless population of undead that never seems to get smaller. This led us to assume that perhaps they have a gender..? Perhaps all the ghouls and spectres have little (or large) ghostly genitals, thus explaining their swelling numbers. Regardless of the truth of the matter we crushed each and every one of them until peace returned to the woods.

The values of each appartion were;

Zombies: One phantasmal glob.
Skeletons: Two phantasmal globs.
Ghouls: Five phantasmal globs.
Spectres: Ten phantasmal globs.
Liches: Twenty phantasmal globs.

Naturally I won with a grand total of fifty six billion phantasmal globs to Buttons' pathetic seventeen. I slapped him around the face and dismissed him.

Gold for the coffers: Fourteen hundred and fourteen coins.

Patrol to the Graveyard!

Hordes of undead?


I ran to the barracks to find some guards but none were awake!
"Undead were here invading Cove and the guards were sleeping?! Pfah!
I brushed it off and went to the graveyard myself! I couldn't find the beasts alone but at least I could get some information on them! I gathered what information I could on three exhibits and almost got crippled by two of them.


Exhibit A:
Some form of Shadow Elemental


Notes:

• Have similar features to elementals and move at the same speed, sometimes faster.
• Seem to be made of pure darkness
• Have extremely powerful magic attacks.
• Could be lethal to unprotected passer-byers

Exhibit B/C:
Towering skeletons of some sort/Large totems



Notes(Exhibit B):

• Bones are black, not white
• Have odd features on them, possible signs of power and status among other undead
• Taller than anything I've ever seen in Cove!
• Usually don't stray from the graveyard, seem to be attracted to the totem
• Lethal magic attacks.
• Seem to be commanders of the undead hordes.

Notes(Exhibit C):

• Large totems made of marble as it seems
• Some form of "skull" carving at the top of the totem
• Have no shadow

I've come to the conclusion that this is not an attack to be taken lightly and must be stopped. Let's get some hunts going!

Adds a note to the report

The Shadow Elemental as they are called here, seem to heal and get stronger if attacked by archers!  Do not engage them with bows of any type!  Mages and swordsman seems to be the best way of dealing with them!  The others can be attacked by bows.

Upon my arrival at the barracks Sergeant Hoagie informed me of a roaming orc he had just chased off, so before heading to cleanse the graveyard I led those gathered to the orc fort to show the stinkoes a thing or two.

We thinned out their numbers and slew the many champions they unleashed upon our party.
